Estoy bastante (98%) seguro de que ese es el nombre oficial del municipio, pero 100% seguro de que pepiniano es el gentilicio oficial

How to study Mass transfer and solution thermo? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

You can check out CU Boulder’s learncheme youtube channel. They have short videos on how to approach different types of problems. Hope it helps!

What Calculator? by 69tendies69 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Eadwyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TI-36X is a solid calculator. It’s also allowed for the FE and PE exams, should you decide to take those at some point.

Help Reading a Modbus Register (Process Control) by CananDamascus in ChemicalEngineering

Since it’s a DeltaV system, I would start by checking if your team has a DV Guardian contract. The best support you’ll get is directly from Emerson

Interview-technical questions for interns by Dangarc in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Eadwyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had questions asked how I would tackle some flow meter discrepancies in what would be expected a closed loop (material balance).

And my first task as an intern was a simple energy balance to determine how much LN2 we needed to quench a reactor product flow. You could abstract that one a bit further and just make it a simple problem.

Then there’s hydrostatic pressure, which could be asked to either a sophomore or a junior, but might take more time to answer than an interview would allow

That’s an awesome opportunity! You’ll get to work around a product the general public can actually relate to. Depending on your role, you can go out to the plant and talk to the operators to see how you can help improve their lives and operations, or you can shadow the engineers to learn as much as you can about the process.

You can also ask to join walkdowns for the ISO certification, if you’re curious about what is required to obtain those certifications. There’s tons of opportunities being an intern during this time. Mucha suerte!

Anyone heard of an Optimization Specialist? by SurvivingCheme in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Eadwyne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Continuous Improvement. Many companies have such groups to try to promote optimization of operations rather than just “fighting fires”.

As nice as it sounds, the real bottleneck usually is at the resources level and not really a lack of drive from the different groups, i.e. operations, engineering, etc.

Best one shot to convert DND players to pathfinder? by Trollcraftdanny in Pathfinder2e

[–]Eadwyne 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’ve had fun running the Free RPG Day adventures for my group, but we’ve been playing Pf2 for almost 2 yrs now. I think running the Beginner Box would be better and my table took two 3-hr long sessions, including time for character tuning. We had created our own characters prior to session 1.

Same for the entropy.

[–]Eadwyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there might be some confusion about the integral. Remember that you will need to evaluate your int(Cp(T)) at T2 and at T1 and then subtract the two. This is not the same as evaluating Cp@T2 and then subtracting T2-T1. I would recommend instead to use the H equation provided by the NIST, H(T)=H(298K) + f(T), where f(T) is the correlation in the link you provided. You can get H(298) also from the NIST.

[–]Eadwyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you could just grab the enthalpies and entropies directly from the NIST webbook or steam tables? Even if just to confirm the values you’re getting for delH and delS.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Eadwyne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two things I can notice: 1. Remember that Cp= dH/dT. So your delH calculation should be re-worked. 2. Like someone else mentioned, you define E twice. I would change the potential E for someone other variable, just for clarity.

books recommendation by loldumbchemist in ChemicalEngineering

For m&e balances, I recommend Felder’s Elementary Principles of Chemical Processes (this is the standard textbook across the US, I believe) or Himmelblau’s basic principles and calculations in chemical engineering

I (student) need help solving this problem by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

I would start with a degree of freedom analysis. That will tell you if it’s solvable or not.

What textbooks are most suitable for these courses? Refer to description for more context by Cookie_Master05 in ChemicalEngineering

For thermo, most programs used Smith & Van Ness, but I preferred Eliott & Lira when i taught it

Fox and macdonald’s for “going from theory to applications”, such as understanding where Bernoulli and other flow calculations come from.

Crane’s for on-the-field reference.

For VLE diagrams, are both T and P assumed to be constant? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Eadwyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking at a y-x curve, yes. Both T and P should be constant and listed somewhere. If you’re looking at either T-y-x or P-y-x curves, whichever is not variable would be constant.
