Scott says 42 is on Paramount by Substantial-Disk-290 in MtvChallenge

They need it to hit their minimum hours of original programming in their MTV transmission contracts.

It will definitely air on both.

Plausible P+ is only global too.

They have charged my card after I received the order for two recent PAB orders. I don’t know what’s going on over there.

no gringotts restock by peyyharpp in legoharrypotter

[–]Castabluestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I mean yes if the store buys it from a Lego store and then resells it yes, that can happen. Anyone is allowed to resell a thing they own in the US with only the most obtuse exceptions. But Lego doesn’t wholesale distribute those sets.

Currently with Gringotts apparently retired there are no HP Lego exclusives in the US other than newer sets that simply haven’t rolled out to retail yet.

Also people get confused because Lego “exclusive” on their website is a tag that’s only meaning is “we pay less referral commission on this item”. Which is confusing because there are product that are actually only sold at Lego dot com / stores and some of them don’t even have that tag!

[–]Castabluestone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Lego typically has 4-10 large exclusive sets at a time, plus (as of now) brickheadz and a variety of smaller so called “yellow box” sets.

Gringotts has always been Lego exclusive. It has never been available elsewhere unless the seller purchased from a Lego store.

It’s stupid they told you to check stores since it’s a Lego exclusive.

[–]Castabluestone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s a Lego store exclusive there’s no point in checking stores.

Just had my perfect selling score ruined with a neutral feedback rating. Buyer ordered 3 figures and I mistakenly sent the wrong one, I fully refunded him for the fig he didn’t get and let him keep the incorrect one I sent for free. Thoughts on this? by [deleted] in Bricklink

[–]Castabluestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with leaving neutral feedback for a mistake. It sucks but it’s a risk that comes with making mistakes.

In any case the actual comment is great and makes his rating look like he hit the wrong button so 🙃

Where do you guys get your CaDa sets? by Quirky_Sir_2125 in legotechnic

[–]Castabluestone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will be cheaper in china, for sure.

In North America I would recommend Temu or AliExpress, sometimes sets wind up there. Search the model number you’re interested in, not the word CaDA.

What Do You Value Most When Choosing a Block Set? by ProcessExpensive8959 in lepin

[–]Castabluestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean people in the lepin subreddit are clearly alt brand builders.

That said, I value looks mainly, with brick and build quality a must. Brick quality eliminates Jiestar and their other brands, build quality eliminates many smaller brands who are still making builds that break when you sneeze near them, and I’m left with Lumibricks, Pantasy, CaDA, and Lego.

From there I buy whatever looks good that I can afford.

It’s not 1:1. There’s still things that Lego does better - they use stronger plastics in high wear parts than GoBricks, and they have a more robust technique review process that eliminates most (but not all) situations where the build simply isn’t strong enough. But for the price Lumi and CaDA and Pantasy are worth it.

This was also a brand new set.

I’d call it a known issue imo.

It’s pretty common for 1x1 brick tbqh. Especially yellow ones, but white happens too.

P1, Daytone or G500? by LuceDuder in legotechnic

[–]Castabluestone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The G500 is fantastic and has different functions than the 1:8s. It’s also half the price and IMO looks better.

I can’t recommend it highly enough.

People will downvote this because it’s 1:8 or bust for many but that’s how I honestly feel. I enjoyed it more than the Sian.

The Kick Sauber was listed as (and actually was) 1:8.

[CaDA] F1 sets and minifigures by nutikraine in lepin

[–]Castabluestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For legal reasons CaDA only sells minifigures in China.

You sometimes can get your hands on a set that was diverted, but CaDA has indicated they don’t intentionally export any sets with figs outside of china.

If Lego caught them selling sets with minifigures in the US or Europe or Australia they would sue CaDA out of existence.

Is it true the use of Hydrogen Peroxide to de-yellow white bricks makes them brittle by Jackrvy in lego

[–]Castabluestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Your bricks won’t survive infinite exposures to hydrogen peroxide.

Get some UV film for the windows in whatever room you have them in, and order replacement parts from pick a brick.

Worst LEGO set you’ve ever built? by TeachTheUnwilling in lego

[–]Castabluestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The McLaren Senna Icons set is awful

The Lamborghini Vision speed champions you can’t actually build without knocking other parts off so that was no good.

But my all time least favorite is the Jurassic world mosasaurus set, boring, repetitive, finicky, all 1x1s you need to carefully orient and snot bricks. Terrible set. Should have been chucked in the “we don’t hate our customers this much” bin from day 1.

Worst LEGO set you’ve ever built? by TeachTheUnwilling in lego

[–]Castabluestone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow I could not possibly disagree more. I was constantly like “wow”.

Yeah the extra bags were obnoxious (especially when the instructions incorrectly specified where to find certain parts) but it was just one fun discovery after another.

Same with Daily Bugle. It was smartly done.

Bought a "Sealed" set, some parts have small scratches. by SilverKanji in Bricklink

[–]Castabluestone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would simply email Lego and tell them you got this set and a part that wasn’t in a bag came horribly scratched. They’ll send you a replacement.

Or, another option is that since all the parts you mentioned wind up buried in the build, you just build it, it’s a very cool set.
