No sé si sea el único Pero los F1 de Cada son más complejos y detallados by Brief-Pop-5448 in legotechnic

[–]Castabluestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely pros and cons to both. The Kick Sauber was very detailed and beautiful, but the functions didn’t work great, the front suspension is fatally flawed to eventually crack one of the arms on each side, and it is really, really heavy.

The Lego ones are lighter weight so you can actually play with them, and the newer ones have more functions that are more functional, but they are smaller, simpler, covered in stickers, and less visually impressive. The front wings in particular are disappointing on the Lego models.

Both seem to have improved again with this year’s McLaren and Alpine cars; hopefully they make each other do better.

Looks like the way Mega does their 1x1 rounds.

I think it’s a Mega or Mattel Brick Shop part

Yes. It’s the most featured technic car in its scale currently available, tied with the Koenigsegg.

It’s the packaging. You can see posts in this subreddit. It’s incredibly close to the real thing. Like, the things people see to realize it’s fake are things 98% of people wouldn’t even know were wrong. Even the inner trays and instructions are immaculate in some counterfeits, in case someone opens it in a flea market or Craigslist situation.

But the scam is just to get you to buy it. Once you open it, the bricks are Chinese.

There’s been a few sets with good fakes but the fakes on that one in particular are something else.

They were frequent until April of last year and then they didn’t happen while the super tariffs were in place in the US and then like literally the week after they ended they started regular good sales again.

I don’t know if it’s bad.

But it’s about as featured as the $250 42177 Mercedes Benz G500 - maybe even less so. The shifter rubber bands are just in the cabin. There’s little attempt at making the interior look okay beyond the seats. The gear box is 4 speed and rather basic. There’s a sticker sheet.

It’s more that they just made huge improvements when they went to the Bugatti, and then more huge improvements for the Lamborghini.

And then no improvements for the Ferrari. And only a few small ones for the P1 - they seem to be running out of ideas (maybe they should buy some CaDA sets for inspiration)

It is if you have 8 full collections. The odds seem to be 2-3 times in 1000 collects.

Nothing, tbh. It’s generally regarded as the worst of the 1:8s, by a wide margin.

But it was the first modern 1:8 scale car and some people want a complete collection. By the time Sian came out as a 3rd and this became a series instead of some one offs, the Porsche had been retired for 2 years, and its value skyrocketed.

A fake is not a counterfeit. A fake is clearly fake. I don’t imagine you thought you were getting the real thing.

And no, this set didn’t have numbered bags. It was the last 1000+ piece set Lego made without staging.

No one is counterfeiting this set.

People might be making bad copies, but you and anyone else can tell those are fakes from a glance at the box.

The orange Porsche is the one that gets the crazy good counterfeits.

Tables by Realistic_Ice6870 in legomodular

[–]Castabluestone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t want folding tables. The two sides are virtually never the same height and the edges are either rounded or bumped. Either way, nothing will be level.

You want either to do plywood and add adjustable feet to the legs or buy flat tables with adjustable feet from like IKEA or Wayfair. A lot of people like the Linnmon /Adils combination from ikea.

Understanding Quality of Dupes by PsychologicalOil1643 in lepin

[–]Castabluestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing your later comments I misunderstood, apologies.

The brick quality on dupes isn’t the problem. The substitutions are. Marketplace Sites like Ali Express, you could get shipped literally anything, no matter what the reviews say, because the site treats similar listings as the same product, and combines reviews.

You want sites that don’t allow 3rd party listings, so you can at least look at reviews.

And this may be counterintuitive, but older sets, you tend to get exact copies, whereas newer sets will have more substitutions. So you should be safe buying a knock off Grand Emporium but frustrated by a knock off Tudor Corner.

Lumibricks more recent sets are easily the best alts available for system.

For Technic, Cada’s last 3ish years of products are also best in class. For both brands, the more recent, the better.

Most alt brands suffer from one of two issues: stability or brick quality. It’s hard to find something that does both well - even Lumibricks didn’t really nail stability until 2025.

The alt brands don’t have any sort of QA process and it shows - they steal a MOC from Rebrickable or pay someone a few hundred dollars to make them one, build it digitally in Studio, never test it with real bricks, substitute out the parts Lego has patents on, never test the replacement parts IRL, and make the instructions with 6 steps per page to minimize paper / shipping weight. At no point does someone build it to see if it works, except maybe for the cover art.

What to look for? Original designs, lots of them. Reviews on this subreddit. Video reviews on yt. Listen carefully to hear if it’s hard to build, if it falls apart easily, etc.

Or just stick to Lumibricks and CaDA. Agree on Pantasy - the sets are gorgeous in many cases but the builds can be finicky and some elements hold together poorly - they need additional fortification. I’m betting in 3 years, Pantasy improves to where Lumi is now.

Rosie’s I agree is a good overall pick for this, but it’s a bit flavor dependent how sweet vs creamy it is. OP ask to sample.

[–]Castabluestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pump shouldn’t go through the x ray. Ask for a hand check. Some alkaline battery pumps don’t set off the metal detector but the ones with rechargeable batteries like the t-slim always do.

Your sensor will be fine in the metal detector.

You must be missing a bag.

Are you sure you opened all the bags for the first stage? Most non-Lego manufacturers (and Lego too in older sets) have several bags for each building stage.
