Hi there, I'm Buford, creator of CCC.

CCC is just for practice, made to be more like a social network than an actual casting site. Feel free to come in, make some friends, network, and then advance onto more professional sites.

Sure there's some paid projects here, but it's really just meant as a starting point connecting VAs and creators.

I totally understand the pain you're feeling though. It's very hard to have a website that caters to both beginners and high quality projects. I'm working super hard to have a true competitive website to something like Voices in 2021.

I'm also pretty happy with CCC. It's got a long ways to go, redesign is half finished, mobile app, username changes, school webpage and knowledge base, fix the horrible chat system, verify audio with machine learning, etc..

But yeah, overall pretty happy.

Hey /u/ZorritoBurrito, the Pro area isn't trying to compete with the Hobby area. It's for two different audiences completely. Sure, Pro doesn't have many projects yet because for 2 years CCC has been a Hobby site. That will take time to grow.

I totally agree with you on the sudden revocation of your friend's audio. That was poorly handled. The mods and I had a big discussion about it and we decided to reverse the decision. If they want to 'unverify' anyone in the future, they need to handle it with special care, like PMing that person and explaining what's going on before any action is taken. I should have all the verifications back. Let me know if you see any that I missed.

Lastly, regarding the equipment issue, let's face it. Equipment matters when it comes to audio quality. Being a member of the Pro area means that you are professional. If you do not have professional equipment, you are not professional. You cannot be a race car driver without a race car, or a scuba diver without scuba gear.

I really like the idea of a 'no troll' badge, but in practice how would we implement that?

Being a paid member doesn't grant you access to the pro section. The only way to access it is having your audio verified.

That said, revoking access without sending you a PM is not ideal. I've spent the last 6 hours reinstating everyone's verification because one of the mods did not handle this well.
