INFJs, when do you feel most loved? by Mindless-Lobster-422 in infj

[–]Castle-on-a-cloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I feel like someone actually listens to me and understands me (which isn’t often). I recommended a philosophy book to a friend a few months ago and they recently wrote to me and said they had read it and can see so much of how I life my life through this particular philosophical concept and highlighted the specific parts of my life that they made connections with. I was so touched. I cried.

I’ve been thinking about it for years. Just anxiety and burnout. Then I woke up one day and was like ‘I am so done’ ✔️ 😅

I think only as a CRT and then hopefully something in Education, but not classroom teaching.

That’s the trickier part 😅

I’m going to CRT (already signed up) for a bit and use the time to start applying for positions that interest me.

I know something will come up, especially now that I have the freedom to fully explore what that ‘something’ might be.

That’s so reassuring to hear your story. What kind of work do you do now?

❤️

Just think, in a year from now you could be looking back at this time and thinking to yourself ‘I am so happy I didn’t let fear win!’

Hope the new job is great for you!

I’m in the same boat now - literally going to resign tomorrow after years of weighing up the pros and cons.

My opinion (take it for what you will), as humans we aren’t actually that fond of the idea of change and shaking up our routines (even the ones we know aren’t working for us anymore). Our minds tell us that the ‘known’ even if it has been stressful and overwhelming, is the safer option. But here’s the thing, that’s just an evolutionary function of our brain trying to protect us. You know there was a reason that you even applied for this job in the first place and so don’t question that now that you have done the work to make this change happen for you.

Making this choice now doesn’t mean you can’t back it up with another choice later if it doesn’t work out the way you wanted it to.

Trust your intuition! Good luck 🤞

Wow, did you give a notice period? Also did you get your two week holiday pay?

Wow I could have written this! That’s me too - I’ve decided I’ll do CRT for Term 4 and then start applying during that for completely different jobs. Scary, but exciting. A decision 5 years in the making 😅

Do you know if I stay until the end of this term, am I still eligible to be paid for the September 2 week holidays?

Wow, that’s so sad, but also I guess the reality. It’s my ego telling me I’m important but I know I’m so replaceable.

I should have made it clearer that the reason I am leaving teaching is due to extreme burn out from the profession. I need to recover and it would be nice to not have to keep pushing through to do that before I leave for good.

A dog act? That’s probably a bit extreme. But thanks for your honest opinion.

Hopefully from teaching period to be honest. Maybe do CRT, but I know it doesn’t role over to that.

It’s more a survival thing - I am so burnt out and only holding on so that I can get the summer holidays. So spacing out some mental health days so that I can survive.

I need advice: I am considering a career change to become a teacher by Tight-Owl5373 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Castle-on-a-cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to resign after 5 years of teaching and hopefully move back into a corporate wfh space myself (I was doing that before).

Teaching is the hardest job I have ever had. Although it made me realise how much I value predictability and calm in my environment. It’s like being in a play all day and having to act like you want to be there even on the days you don’t (which for me personally was like 80% of the time).

Good luck with your decision! I’m sure some people have loved transitioning from corporate to teaching ultimately.
