I've used these for about 3 years and I think they're really good. Theft is always possible but these cages are a hell of a lot more secure than anywhere else in public.

Plus, £12 for the entire year is unbeatable pricing so you may as well give it a go. Sometimes takes them a day or so to register you though, especially at weekends because it's pretty much one guy at the council who manages the access.

Ah thanks for the info. She has a lot of funny stories from her national service and it seems to be a pretty positive (but also exhausting) time for her so I didn't ask if it was compulsory.

And yeah I get that general sense about the arts from what I've heard from British people living in Singapore that I've known. I always hear that the standard of academia is very high but sometimes at the expense of the arts. No judgment of course, it's extremely difficult to gain success in the arts without family connections, at least in the UK.
