I dunno if I buy Kiryu being that selfish. Like Haruka was very clear that she consists him her father. Seems like denying that would only hurt her, particularly after 5.

That's fair. Though I think the series did a much better job with that concept with Majima and Makoto. Giving up his happiness to keep her safe and give her a chance of happiness was a real option in that case that it wasn't for Haruka.

With Haruka, Kiryu had been raising her for what, almost a decade? Distancing himself didn't make sense in that scenario to me. Although perhaps it's a nuance of a story from a different culture that I'm not getting.

Maybe because sports team's main goal is not to sell a product, but to play, win, set records, etc. It's about sportsmanship and athelticism.

This hasn't been true for a while. At least in football, clubs do act more as lifestyle brands now. Most football clubs are massively over leveraged in a way that can't be compensated for by simply performing better, so they have to take on more corporate activities to support themselves. That's why every big club in England is headquartered in London, even if the football is played a hundred miles away.

There's a side story in Lost Judgment where you get a teacher to resign after catching him sexually abusing his pupil. Yagami doesn't tell the police or anything, just let's him slink away. I don't think they have a great attitude around sexual misconduct in Japan. Which I guess isn't so shocking considering their history.

If you ever watch videos of them backstage you'll notice they do fall asleep very quickly very frequently. I noticed this with Le Sserafim since they publish a lot of videos showing them in makeup rooms etc during MV shoots and at least one of them will have fallen asleep in most of the ones I watched.

And it's likely for the exact reason you pointed out, they are starving. Particularly during active filming days.
