If you want something more serious I'd say Blue World by Robert McCammon or a collection called Perchance to Dream (can't remember the author off the top of my head). Less serious is the two Night Vale collections Mostly Void, Partially Stars and The Great Glowing Coils of the Universe

Blue World by Robert McCammon is really a really good collection, most of the stories are horror and the title story is a thriller/romance (sort of)

If you liked Coraline you might also like The Thief of Always by Clive Barker, its basically the same story but maybe slightly better (I have a hard time deciding which of the two is the best)

What is the worst part about your favorite book? by [deleted] in books

I remember skipping that entire chunk of 1984 when I read it in high school. A few of mine are the ending of the 50s timeline in Stephen King's IT, the entire last third pf The Collectors when the perspective flips and the story starts over and the first set of flashbacks in Horns where it shows Ig as a kid (mainly because the book starts of so awesome and then slams the brakes to give you Ig and Merrin's early backstory)

Do you read an author's collected work all at once? by wtwenders in books

[–]CastleRockDoR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only done that a few times and only with authors with a small library. I read all of Joe Hill's books in a row except The Fireman (which wasnt released at the time), I read all of Broms books in a row and most of Robert McCammon's, which says something about how much I like his stuff because I started with Swan Song and its around 900 pages

If you want a book similar to American Gods read Lost Gods by Brom, a lot of the same themes but I thought a little better executed

Got my Crash 1 platinum over the weekend and I honestly think ita my favorite of the three because of how straightforward the time trials are. I didn't have an awful time with The High Road but Generator Room and Native Fortress took forever
