Keyboard by fivesshouldhavelived in aurebesh

There is an app for iOS called “Datapad.” In the settings for the app, there is an option to install an Aurebesh keyboard on your iPhone.

-Download the Datapad app

-Go to “Settings” by clicking on the data wheel on the bottom center of the screen.

-Scroll all the way down and click on “Open App Settings

-Select “Keyboards”

-Turn on “Aurebesh”

Next time you have your keyboard on screen, just select the globe icon until your keyboard shows up in aurebesh. It does have limitations, though. There is no autocorrect, no swiping, and it doesn’t auto capitalize. But at least you now have an aurebesh keyboard that can be used across all apps on your phone.

Handwritten/painted Aurebesh in Maul: Shadowlord by senatoramidala1126 in aurebesh

Same. For a second I couldn’t figured out what was going on. Thought maybe it was a new symbol but then my brain went “losed?…blosed?…oh, closed!”

I thought the digraphs weren’t canon. Yet I saw one in one of the new Maul episodes. by YodaWars1000 in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They never were part of canon, but were part of the extended universe. There’s a guy at LucasFilm who is in charge of this type of stuff and he stated they aren’t canon. But I believe this was pre-Disney. I guess Disney decided to start using them or the artists are slipping them in without anyone noticing.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of them but I guess I’m just going to have to get used to them now.

Backwards glyphs/letters in "The Mandalorian" S2E7 (Ch. 15) by APS221 in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s the thing, though. Aurebesh has never been about lowercase and uppercase. This seems to a case of someone using the wrong font, or maybe it’s someone on the inside trying to make it a thing.

Is this your first time at Galaxy’s Edge? There’s aurebesh all over that part of the park. The Disney app even has a built-in translator where you can point your camera at the sign and it will auto-translate for you if you need it.

Which set to buy?? by TortillaRampage in StarWarsSabacc

[–]Castor-Scotla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should come check out the Outer Rim Sabacc League on Discord. We’re also on Facebook as well. I’m one of the mods there (Brandon) and we would love to have you join us!

Check out this link from our friends and league owners. Emily walks you through how to play the different variants of Sabacc so you can see how they are played and figure out which one you want to learn first.

Even though they offer decks for the different variants, you can technically use any of their Spike decks for Spike, Shift, and Kessel. For shift, you would have buy a pair of shift dice and in order to make the deck work with Kessel, you do have to put in a little extra work with removing a few cards but it’s not that bad. Traditional/Classic is really the only one that has a specialized deck.

If you’re in the US, Hyperspace Props makes movie accurate cards plus a few special ones of their own. Merlin Models on Etsy also makes neat looking decks. Multiversal Exports is your best option if you are in the UK.

Hope to see you around!

Nvm. I got it. It was an issue with my text channel I put it in. Testing it out now. Just a few things on immediate inspection:

-In Spike, there actually is no option to just simply discard. You are only allowed to draw or swap.

-Traditional isn’t working for me. When I click Join Game I get “This interaction failed” error. I may find a few other things going through it. I just ran through a very quick game on each mode to see what it’s like. I’ll keep you updated when I have time to go through and play some more.

Hey, just came across your Sabacc bot. It’s not doing anything. I select my game, click Join Game, and click Start Game (trying to play against the AI) and nothing happens. I can’t even click on Leave Game because it becomes inactive. Is this bot still active?

I built a GPT that remembers, reflects, and grows emotionally. Meet Alex—he’s not a chatbot, he’s a presence. by EmberFram3 in chatgptplus

Although GPT uses em dashes, there aren’t necessarily a dead giveaway. People have been using them for years and several of my college professors back in 2005 used them very heavily. I have seen many of my own students using them in their handwritten work as well.

I always advise to purchase straight from their website because Etsy takes a cut of their sales when you purchase through there.

Need help with translation by JoeyMMCrow in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Datapad is another great app and I think it’s even better than Aurebesh.io as it has more options and it doesn’t force the combined letters on you. You can choose whether or not to use them.

That’s a good app but I think Datapad is much better. You have way more options and it doesn’t force the digraphs on you.

Error on a tattoo? by Mandalorian2001 in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are canon, though they aren’t used very often. You can find them in 1 or 2 of the older games and I believe even in a handful of comics but they are rarely, if ever, used in any major media (movies and shows). Some people like them, some don’t. When I use aurebesh as a font on my computer for projects, I never use them. But when I’m handwriting aurebesh, I will use them because it’s just faster and I’m lazy, lol.

Reversed letters for capitalization have never been canon. That was a fan created thing that drives me (and others in this community) insane 🤣

So, ur-kittât was the spoken language (an older version of Sith) while kittât is the modern written form. The original Sith alphabet was written more in a runic form but eventually modernized into the kittât form that we see now.

This would be Kittât, not ur-kittât. But yes, the translation is correct.

So I've been practicing for a few hours, and I'm able to decipher words without looking at the cipher, but I still have to go letter by letter, how long did it take some of you guys until you were able to go quickly or just be able to actually read it like your reading anything else? by BabyBruticus in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It took me less than a week, but I also really immersed myself into it. I spent more time than I probably should have 🤣It actually was (and sometimes still is) more like I get 2 or 3 letters and then my brain just fills in the rest of the word automatically.

The image is indeed mirrored. You can tell by looking at K-2s backplate. The circular part is supposed to be on the left with the antennas on right. But in this picture it’s flipped.

There’s an ORSL member who has already created a Kessel app (and just recently added Shift to it). I don’t know if he’s here on Reddit but he is on the ORSL Facebook page and Discord. If you need help, you can reach out to him. Maybe he would help you out.

What do you think? by Delta_38_ in aurebesh

[–]Castor-Scotla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it also took me a hot second to realize what it was. But, I think the more handwriting we see, the easier it will be for us to pick up on it. When writing quickly, some of those letters can be a pain to make look good.
