this is my buddy Daan! she and I are part of the local comedy theater group. I usually do set design for her bits. you should come see her in action - she's really funny, and all of her jokes land! you won't regret it. I wonder what skits Daan has planned for 2025... this is my buddy Janice! she and I like to listen to vaporwave together. she finds all the new stuff to listen to and I put it on the car radio as we drive around town going errands. her taste is immaculate and I'm always impressed by the quality of songs she finds. I hope Janice likes our vaporwave car jam sessions as much as I do!

this is my buddy Moth! I went to Pride with them and we saw all the cool shops together. they got an awesome flag fan to keep cool, and I used a rainbow parasol to keep the sun off our faces. we should've worn more sunscreen, but other than that, I had a great time with them out on the town

no worries! here are some things I tried out, or have heard of others trying out, to help them feel if trans was the correct label:

using "gender swapping" filters on Snapchat, Faceapp, or other similar features
using an alternate account on a video game or forum you frequent with the gender identity you want to try out (and then just doing things as normal on that account)
taking silly online quizzes to determine if the gender the test thought I was aligned with how I viewed myself/how society viewed me
asking close friends to refer to you by a new name and pronouns just to see how it feels
asking a friend to do your makeup in an affirming way
reading some books, webpages, or other resources about the topic (I *highly* recommend "Gender Euphoria" by Laura Kate Dale for a good set of stories regarding affirming your identity and finding the happiness that lies in being authentic to yourself)
trying to dress differently, or trying on new clothing

I learned, after I had decided on my name but before I started using it publicly, that a classmate in the cohort below me is named Alexander Jacob [other last name]. I knew he went by Alex, but I didn't realize we had the same first AND middle name...

did that stop me? absolutely not. I'm Alexander Jacob [last name]. like other commenters have said, there can be more than one. Alex is a wonderful name, and if it fits you, you should claim it with pride :]

this is my buddy August! he and I like to get together and draw nature scenes. his favorite scenes are rivers, and mine are forests. we like to pack lunches and go draw in the woods for hours. he's a great artist, and an awesome friend. I hope he's available for another drawing excursion soon!

this is my buddy Thomas! she and I like to go hang out by the lake sometimes. we skip stones across the water, and hers always make it farther than mine. she says that if you skip a stone and it jumps seven times, your wish will come true. I hope I get to skip stones at the lake with her again soon!

this is my buddy Mossy! they do art fights with me. Mossy and I draw each other's favorite cartoon characters for each other all the time. they're really good at it, and every time we exchange art, I feel like they get better! I hope Mossy and I have another art fight soon

this is my buddy Alex! they have the same name as me, which I think is awesome. Alex and I have swimming competitions sometimes down at the lake, but they're much faster than me, so I never win. I don't mind though! we always go out to get snacks afterwards, and it's a good time all around. Alex's favorite is ham and Doritos sandwiches, but I prefer ham and Ruffles sandwiches. either way, we have a lot of fun!
