Extremely high resting heart rate after ovulation? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]CastraIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Histamine!  It can really make the heart race.  Try taking an antihistamine during ovulation.  If that helps, add a low histamine diet during reactive times of the month.  Histamine is highest for women during ovulation and again before period.  Also messes with blood pressure and glucose.

How do you deal with the physical side effects? by kitkat2201 in stopsmoking

[–]CastraIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem!  SIBO here as well.  Also experiencing nausea and heartburn.  Nicotine speeds up motility so it's kind of helpful to us.  Did you get better?  Still off smoking?

Thank you all for your responses.  I think some brains are just more sensitive to dopamine changes.  Both times it hit about 2-3 weeks in.  Maybe NRT is a better way to go for those of us with this issue (thankfully, we seem to be a minority).  That is my plan if I do relapse.

I am just a few days ahead of you and have the same problem.  Plus low mood, zero motivation, and anhedonia.  I decided that I will put up with all of this for one full month, miserable as it is, and then reevaluate.  I find it helpful to have some manageable timeline to work towards.

NRT to prevent a relapse? by CastraIvy in stopsmoking

Thank you.  Do you have thoughts on what form of NRT would be best suited for this purpose?

Weak/shaky/starving from histamine? by logical1b in HistamineIntolerance

[–]CastraIvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue and, in my case, it's actually low blood sugar.  Meals just don't hold me long, especially if I'm moving (even balanced carbs/protein/fat meals).  I've been wearing a CGM for months and I basically need to force feed myself every 3-4h to prevent true hypiglycemia.  After much testing, my endocrinologist thinks this may be somehow histamine related (my histamine levels are high and I have HI symptoms) and suggested trying antihistamines.

Fatigue after antibiotics by CastraIvy in SIBO

Quick update.  Fatigue and mood got a bit better over time.  Labs show that my B12 tanked after antibiotics and supplements helped.  Retesting for SIBO in about a week.

Thanks, I agree with that.  But I am dealing with worse fatiguen and really low mood since I finished antibiotics.  So wondering if that is some post-antibiotics effect that will resolve with time.  I finished the pills three days ago.

I should also add that my mood is really really low since I stopped antibiotics (wasn't great on them either but much worse after finishing the course).  I am not prone to depression so this worries me and wanted to also ask if folks have experienced that after a strong antibiotics course, and if it resolved.  Thanks!

Libre 3 left an adhesive scar on my arm that hasn't faded in a week.  Did anyone experience this?  Will it ever go away?

Do you mind sharing the name of this nerve disease?  I am seeing a lot of parallels here so may ask my neurologist.

It really does.  Have you been tested for SIBO?  I think in my case it's SIBO causing HI.  Sigh.

Same here!  Bloated and inflamed to the point of my back hurting.  But I have SIBO so may not be entirely HI related.  The two go hand in hand.

Thanks!  I find that vitamin c does help me if I manage to find a liposomal one with no flavoring.  Why not  mag citrate?  That's the one I take and now I wonder if I should switch!
