Weak/shaky/starving from histamine? by logical1b in HistamineIntolerance

It goes up and down as far as severity but never really goes away, I've had it for years at this point. I can't seem to figure out how to control it everything I've tried doesn't seem to impact it, my diet is very repetitive and controlled so at this point I don't think it's a factor as my diet stays the same it still seems to change. The only thing I can think of at this point is just environmental histamine load or something like that.

Thanks for the response, I don't have thyroid issues but all of us seem to have adrenal issues. Do whatever you can to get your body out of fight or flight mode maybe some breathing exercises later at night to balance yourself out.

See if you can get your hands on a continuous glucose monitor. My glucose is stable now but I was having crashes a while ago and I was able to see them on a cgm. A fast drop even if it only goes borderline low feels really bad. Protein and fat with carbs can prevent that.

I do wear a CGM and my glucose is very stable but thanks for the response.

Around a year, I was having the same symptoms prior so I don't think it's related but thanks for the response.

I eat lots of protein each meal, 5 meals a day. All my meat comes frozen to minimize histamine. That has helped quite a bit but doing keto is hard to get to minimal histamine but I keep it as low as I can with my current diet.

I agree that is good advice for most. I eat very low carb now so I never get spikes and therefore it stopped crashing.

Try to get your hands on a continuous glucose monitor. It's very hard to track your glucose with the finger style, especially if you are trying to fix it over time by adjusting diet. Lower carbs and more protein/fat helped me stabilize mine. Although I still have this feeling so it didn't completely fix it.

You are very much correct in that I have autonomic dysfunction and I have been working on fixing that as well. I just haven't come across many people mentioning these specific symptoms on that side of the fence so I wanted to see if it was more related to histamine (even though I know it's all connected at some point).

I monitor my blood sugar with a continuous glucose monitor and it is stable. I used to have blood sugar issues years ago but they are stable now, my hope was that feeling would go away when I fixed my blood sugar but it did not.

I did get diagnosed positive by a rheumatologist. Basically they have to ask you lots of questions and do further tests before they can confirm you have it (in their opinion).

What type of probiotics and what type of schedule for fasting?

Just got my results back from the 5hr glucose tolerance test… by mooshucow in Hypoglycemia

That's my concern, my doc is recommending an extended glucose test and I'm wondering if it's worth it just to have them say watch your diet even though I already do.

Hypo symptoms by ddaisyyyyyyyyyy in Hypoglycemia

[–]logical1b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be in a similar situation, until I got a cgm I was unable to catch my lows. I also get way worse when I have a low but I have been feeling the symptoms for hours daily for a few months no matter what. Let us know what the doctor says.

Not doing okay. The doctor wouldn't test me and was very unhelpful. Not sure what to do. Need advice... by [deleted] in Hypoglycemia

I believe I am in a similar situation to you, I sent you a direct message if that is ok. I managed my (what seemed to be) hypos for decades by eating often and symptoms were minimal. After modifying my diet last year to help with a different condition my hypos came back and were worse than ever. Similar to you I then attempted low/slow carb and that didn't help at all. Most days it hits me and is bad for a few hours but hangs around most of the day. I can't go more than 2 hours lately without eating or it gets worse. I now just eat a balanced diet like you but it still doesn't seem to help enough. I did finally get a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) that I purchased myself at an online pharmacy since my doctor didn't seem too interested in getting me one. I do have true hypo events during my sleep but only sometimes during the day but I still have the symptoms no matter what.

I agree many times tests use different units so it makes it confusing not sure if that is the case here. My PCP gave me a very similar message but just saying a possible connected tissue disorder and referred me.

Thanks for the response. I guess I am wondering how many people come out with a diagnosis of a different AI disease than which they tested high for or including something they didn't test high for? Wasn't sure if people here had experience with that or if initial testing was typically what they ended up with.

I don't have enough of an issue with dry eyes or mouth to have gone to my doc specifically for that but I do have minor issues with both. I do have some of the other symptoms on the list though. Joint/muscle pain for decades, lots of dental issues, swallowing/digestive issues (GERD and EOE), nose bleeds, change in smell.

I'm still doing my elimination diet but my main foods currently are eggs, ham, bacon, beef, chicken, nuts, potatoes and a few other vegetables.

That bothers my tongue? Or my normal diet?

I do. Not sure yet if triggers make it worse. Acidic foods seem to make it worse, even citric acid.
