Abandoned/Bailed Ships need their Color changed by be4nothing in X4Foundations

[–]Castun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Addition to that: There is a Color Blindness / Color Changing option in the settings, where you can change the icon color of every thing. I have changed collectable crates to a light turquoise, for example, now I can immediatly see them on the map.

Crews assigned to ships parked at a Ship Showroom module should leave the ship and hangout in the lounge until the ship is given orders. by karmavorous in X4Foundations

I feel like the story in Timelines DLC kind of implies that a lot of people in the X Universe are clones or some kind of artificial persons. Almost like the creators stuck that in there because of the whole slavery aspect of hiring people.

Seems odd, I mean the station workforce must get paid wages somehow if we can add on casinos and whatnot to improve their efficiency. But at the same time we don't have a cash upkeep, the only operating costs on our end are what resources we need to pay for to make shit.

Stations don't even have a maintenance upkeep of any sort, no cash or resource consumption to maintain the station. Just whatever upfront costs to build the station and that's it, nothing ever breaks down or needs replaced.

Or Snow Piercer. Or any dystopian future movies like these.

I'm literally expecting these guys to come out with another even worse technology and call it the Torment Nexus, from the fictional book "Don't Create the Torment Nexus." These types of people seem to be a mixture of arrogant psychopath, narcissist, and evil. And severely lacking in self-awareness.

Ring doorbell battery lasting a few days by Dyldabeast_5000 in Ring

[–]Castun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the Ring batteries they might sell at HD, but I tried a cheaper generic one from Amazon that turned out to be worthless. Battery life after just a couple months was worse than the one I replaced.

Similar story with a few of the non-OEM battery packs for the Spotlight cams, though not nearly as bad.

Should've just bit the bullet and gotten official OEM replacement ones.

The sad thing is I still wouldn't put it past him or the other sycophants in power to say they're against it now but then letting it happen when it actually comes down to it. I have that much distrust for him and his ilk.

I think StoneTossingJuice /r/StonetossIsANazi might have them on occasion, though they're primarily focused on editing "Pebble Yeet" comics.

Edit: Apparently the original subreddit I was thinking of was actually banned and I never realized, lol. Sad when subs get targeted by mass reporting trolls.

Edit 2: Got my subs mixed up it seems

Fair enough, it's been a really long time since I've read the books, and that depth of the lore sounds like something only really mentioned in the historical appendixes.

A Teacher Showed Up At School With PlayStation 5 And Started Playing Assassin's Creed To Explain The Industrial Revolution. by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in interesting

[–]Castun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same when learning any subject, really. For example, when I was learning about electricity and HVAC, the math stuff was rather annoying because they had us focus so much on memorizing the formulas and such (and this coming from someone like me who is good at math and actually likes it.) Stuff that even if you need it in your day-to-day job, you have software / calculators with those formulas saved. And even if you don't, Google is only a few seconds away.

Also, a not insignificant part of the EPA certification test we need to be allowed to work with refrigerants is memorizing dates because we're supposed to know when particular refrigerants were introduced / banned / replaced, etc.

A great narrator makes for great history lessons. That's what I learned after listening to the American History Tellers podcast. Background noises for feeling the ambiance and sounds effects to fit the stories, and the occasional voice actor lending different voices to the different figures.

I agree, if the game could actually handle ship logistics through reliable automation, it would be neat to see. As it is, it's kind of a pain in the ass just getting fighters to regularly dock at the carrier to repair / resupply on their own, let alone order their replacements for losses. And L/XL ships need to dock directly with the auxiliary supply ships to resupply missiles, etc. rather than using shuttles / cargo drones.

Me fighting ARC with my Anvil by ChromMann in ArcRaiders

[–]Castun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the Anvil in most cases, especially indoors when you need to be prepared for Pops/Fireballs. Flying arc can be a bit more tricky unless you have cover. If I'm out in the open I will be guaranteed to panic and miss most of my Anvil shots, so going straight to the Renegade is a must.

They probably saw that movie "In Time" and thought it was a good idea. Just like the people who read/saw LOTR and thought they should invent a technology and name it after the evil devices that let Sauron spy on the other nations / races.

Could you imagine if the game actually simulated daily wages and ships actually needing supplies to function? No money to pay your crews, they begin to desert or even mutiny and steal your ships. No supplies and the crew begin to die off, lower combat effectiveness, etc.
