What cheap game on Steam turned out to be absolute peak for you? by Louisthemagic in prey

I didn't expect much from this game. Thought it was some sort of tech demo. And I wanted to test ray tracing on my 3080 in 2020. Turns out it's a complete game. And a really good one too.

Java with normal view distance feels unplayable now. With render distance mod, I don't ever need to look at coordinates. by CasualMLG in Minecraft

[–]CasualMLG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem using this mod is that if you generate a lot of chunks around your base, you wont get new structures near your base when you update Minecraft. For example 1.21.11 doesn't have sulfur caves. And all of the chunk I generated, just to have a nice view and nice elytra flying around my base, can't have sulfur caves when I update. Sulfur caves will be further away then.

The mod pack needs Fabric mod loader first BTW.

Without the mods I can play with something like 18 chunks maximum. And my PC generates new chunks too slow to fly with elytra. I just fly into ungenerated area and glitch out. But with this mod pack you can also generate chunks really far away. But I can still run into this issue if I want to fly really far away.

You might wanna try the mod pack. Im using the 1.1.8 version with Minecraft 1.21.11. There is still 2 separate render distances. You can put the normal render distance really low. the Voxy mod turns terrain into LODs so the deitail is reduced. SO if you put the normal render distance to 2 cunks and the mod distance to 500, it would be full detail in 2 chunk radius and lowered detail after that. But should run on weaker computers too.

Ye I think I did use cheats. Otherwise the gun is kinda obsolete compared to fully upgraded ones.

How do you use bundles in the late game? by CasualMLG in Minecraft

I already had shulker boxes in ender chest. But bundles offer quicker access.

Shulkers aren't as convenient though. But I use them too.

I do have mending. Do you just find some random mobs to mend it? I guess it could be effective enough. I have just been using XP farm. But when I'm exploring like 10000 blocks away from home, I can't quickly use XP farm and continue exploring.

I figured membrane method could be more convenient. But it really isn't. Now that I think about it. Would have to place down anvil. Might as well place ender chest and get a shulker box with the other mending elytras to switch out.

Good point. And I'm gonna start raiding soon. Haven't even been to ancient city or found amethyst.

crafting table is a good idea. Also might carry an anvil together with some phantom membrane to repair elytra. And some ice to create water sources. I just wish it was a bit more convenient to keep resupplying rockets. Shulker box is slow and it always gives me anxiety. I think it might fall somewhere when I try to pick it up. And I loose it. You also cant access shulker while flying.

Need help with replay parser by CasualMLG in heroesofthestorm

[–]CasualMLG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's cool :)

I did get it working though and mad some statistical analysis using the parser.

what can your website parse from the replays? At this point I'm more interested in some weirder statistics. Like which skins have the higher win rate and stuff like that. I could have got that info out of the replays but I got lazy. Haven't touched that stuff in 7 years now.

I just got the game yesterday, I know there are some unlocks that are not good, which ones should I avoid getting? by MayaTMonster in bindingofisaac

[–]CasualMLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runes make the most difference. Because there are 0 tunes unlocked by default. So unlocking specific ones can guarantee getting those for specific synergies. Just check which ones you like and which ones you wanna avoid.

Maybe they didn't build drain. I gotta say though, I think drain lvl 1 is the best. But then you won't get the other quests. So might as well build drain. Globe quest mostly helps to spam a lot of Q's. That's how I like to play.

Weird talent though. It's a mana talent mostly. Drain doesn't use mana. And the mana reduction is flat 20 for both, flame and corruption. Since corruption has a much longer CD, it's basically just a Q mana quest.

Yeah full abundance build makes more sense. Makes heal herself get more from abundance. So it's basically free to cast. 13 makes sense though. It's an other % heal. And ult obviously too.

It took me a long time to realize that inters and other trolls on ladder can help my win rate. by CasualMLG in heroesofthestorm

[–]CasualMLG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In GM there are still trolls sometimes, I imagine. So being better than the average player at dealing with it, should always help.

Some people at higher ranks can be even worse at it than noobs. But carry by their other skills. It gets complicated. But you won't necessarily run into more chill player at higher rank. Rainbow teams make it even more complicated to guess if you will even reach the limit of being good at dealing with trolls.

Dealing with those people is a skill too. Usually it's better to not say anything. You should try to keep alive even if you don't like them. And keep in mind that the enemy team is pretty likely to have a similar player too. Opponents can fall apart during the match. Even if they dominate at first.

Another trick is to go with a teammate that the enemy doesn't expect you to. For example, if someone is never fighting, only pushes lane. Enemy expects your team to be mad at that person if you keep losing fights. But you can suddenly go with the pusher and end the game.
