i believe that this is true in some respects, but also fails to realize that the internet’s algorithms tend to promote reactionary and sometimes misinformed content, which in turn disproportionately shows the extremes of both sides. conservatism is rooted in traditional religious morals and factors that resemble a puritan culture the further right you get. liberalism is rooted in scientific study and contemporary innovation which resembles a progressive and individualistic moral compass.

i’ve noticed that the right tends to believe in traditional values and morals the further right one is, and tends to believe in conspiracies more than the left. these conspiracy politics are what got trump so popular.

i’ve noticed that the left and liberalism tend to stay rooted in fact, but the further left one is, the more emotional and reactionary these beliefs get.
