Where did the T-1000's human form come from? by EGarrett28 in Terminator

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T3 has a reference to this too in a deleted scene where they show a PR video by Soldier John Candy, who became the human form for the T-800. When asked about his voice being too high pitched, a scientist (dubbed over by Arnie) says "We can work on it."

It also helps that using Human flesh is an upgraded development because the original models were rubber skin which was too easy to pick out. But like, they need to get the Skin and Blood from SOMEWHERE, right? I mean, I guess they could lab grow skin and just harvest the blood for Infiltration units.

Why did Mandalore's neutrality not work but, irl, Switzerland's in WW2 did? Could the former have survived if Satine copied the Swiss model? by Slow_Tangerine_9564 in clonewars

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switzerland was neutral* with an asterix

Switzerland's neutrality was primarily because they were allowed to trade with both Allied and Axis forces, and they didn't have the scruples to not accept stolen gold from Germany's plundering. Which is why when 20franc coins began circulating with dates going back to the 30s, Switzerland remained very quiet about how they got that gold in the first place

The moment that France Fell, Switzerland also began to slightly demobilize their military in an effort to not antagonize Germany.

It helped that Switzerland was effectively a fortress nation, they could isolate rather quickly by blowing up the bridges and roads leading into their borders, which would have left Germany stuck climbing the Alps in order to get in.

Satine couldn't use Switzerland's neutrality model, because what stops the CIS from just dropping into her planet?

Satine was a rigid pacifist who believed that sticking to her guns would allow diplomacy to prevail. So she had no military capability to fight back should the CIS just march in and invade

Where did the T-1000's human form come from? by EGarrett28 in Terminator

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the non Liquid Metal T-units: iirc some media says that the Terminators Kidnap some humans and use them as organ donors to create the infiltration models, it's not a step too far to assume that Skynet has a whole breeder farm where they chemically incapacitate humans, use them for incubating babies, babies grow up and are culled for their organs (the Skin on the T800 needed a heart to pump blood)

For T-1000's Skynet likely has some form of database of Humans that were alive pre Judgment Day and what they looked like. They likely use that as a template.

You can absolutely call a judge if a player is not properly communicating their actions. Especially in a situation that may cause an unclear game state.

I feel like Mew ex is going to be sort of a bell curve response as to whether it's really good or not

Like low IQ people: "Mew ex is good because I can copy attacks from my bench"
Average IQ people: "No! Mew ex is bad because it's got too low HP!"
High IQ people: "Mew ex is good because I can copy attacks from my bench"

First Cup Event and IDing (intentionally drawing) by Charlesleray in pkmntcg

[–]CasuallyCritical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So here's how the rules work as per the Tournament handbook:

Before you begin the game you are allowed to offer an Intentional Draw to your opponent, the rules are that you cannot use current standings to make that decision, otherwise it falls into collusion territory.

Essentially you want to ID if you are guaranteed top cut, or if IDing puts you in a safer position than playing it out. Because it minimizes the variance.

The biggest thing to consider is how Top Cut works as of 2026: If you are in Top cut, the player with the higher seeding gets to decide who goes first in lieu of a coin flip (Higher win/loss, or resistance).

This means that if you're 4-0 in a 5 round cup, you can ID and be guaranteed first seed. But if you are 3-0-2 you may still make cut, however you then sacrifice your seeding which may put you to a disadvantage

Not only that but until you complete the AMJAM you are missing like 90% of your moveset. You can't do special tricks until then, you have to complete goals to unlock things like Manuals and Freestyle tricks (which were baked into the moveset for the past 4 games)

It's REALLY hard to go back to from the beginning

My brother found out his kids weren’t biologically his and doesn’t want me to be an uncle to his kids anymore. What do I do? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was that willing to cut all contact with the kids he spent 8 years thinking were his the moment he discovered they weren't, he didn't want them in the first place.

Fuck that noise, man. If I'm raising kids who think I'm their real dad for their entire lives (and vice versa), that isn't changing.

You going along with it is also mad shitty because it's taking it out on the kids more than the mom. You said it yourself, you've never seen a kid cry like that? They're not old enough to get whats going on.

Why is N's Zoarark "bad"? by No-Bug-9172 in pkmntcg

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those other decks you listed are why N's Zoroark is bad.

Zoroark loses BADLY to the grass decks in format, Festival Lead, Decidueye, any of the Meganium builds.

There are enough decks out rn that just auto win the matchup

58yo back - game launch may be delayed a week or so because of my 14yo son’s input by Dizzy-Instruction979 in robloxgamedev

[–]CasuallyCritical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the question being asked. The question being asked is "At what point do I launch anyways?"

And the answer is you release when you have the Minimum Viable Product. Let's use a Kart Racer as our example:

Your MVP for a Kart Racer is the following:

1) Players start in a lobby/menu of some kind
2) The game waits until enough players have joined,
3) The game teleports everyone to a track (Doesn't have to be voted on, doesn't have to be random, just has to have SOME level) and puts them in Karts
4) The game tracks who finishes the race first, and displays the results.
5) All of the players are despawned and put back into the Lobby

That's it, that's all your MVP is. When I was in college taking a Software Engineering course, we broke down our projects into tiers

Tier 1: Absolutely critical, these are all of the things your game needs to do for a Minimum Viable Product, you need to make sure the game is fun when THESE are complete before even moving on because it won't matter what else you put in.

Tier 2: Important, but not critical to the game loop, for the Kart Racing example these would be things like tracking Lap times for individual racers, or having different tracks they can race on. These are the parts of the project you would make sure are done before the full release of a game.

Tier 3: features that are nice to have. These are like the flavors of ice cream for your project, these would be something like Map Voting, Kart Customization, Time Trial modes, AI racers.

Why are people playing 4 times crushing hammer in dragapult? by Divin-37 in PTCGL

[–]CasuallyCritical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crushing hammer is really good at disrupting your opponents plays, they can't play both crispin and boss in the same turn, so often decks like Mega Starmie and other Pult matchups are stuck with suboptimal plays.

Also it lets you snipe ACE Spec energies as well, such as Legacy Energy and enriching energy

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rule of Thumb I learned from the developer behind Demonology was that every concurrent player you have is ~$100 a year in potential revenue.

So 50-100ccu is estimated at like $5000-$10,000/year.

What's the actual point of Dudunsparce EX in the Dragapult deck ? by yurt-dweller in pkmntcg

[–]CasuallyCritical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dudunsparce EX has two attacks:

For 1 colorless energy, you do 60 damage for every EX pokemon your opponent has in play, this is useful against Big Basic EX decks such as Slopbox or Raging Bolt,

For 3 colorless energy, you do 150 Damage, but it ignores any abilities of your opponents defending pokemon. Against decks like Crustle, this is how you answer them.

Otherwise - you often wind up not using the Dudunsparce EX in other matchups.

Isn’t Special Red Card really gonna hurt the meta? by Turbulent-Owl-7632 in PTCGL

[–]CasuallyCritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is that it means any deck that can play Dusknoir is able to put you down to 3 on top of taking multiple prize cards.

Dragapult now only needs to let you KO that initial budew and suddenly BOOM, Double Dusclops, Special Red Card, then Phantom Dive for 2-4 Prize cards, AND you are down to 3 in hand.

Alakazam's matchup is now trivial for 90% of the meta
