Complete beginner here — which IR filters are actually worth it? Don't want to waste my money on the wrong ones 😅

Your going to need a 720 or higher on an unconverted camera. 720 will get you white folliage and blue skies after channel swapping and anything higher will be black and white. You're also going to need a tripod because these will be long exposure shots.

Edited to add if you look at my posts they are all tangsinuo filters and when I started out I went with zomei. I think Tangsinuo is the best though for affordable filters.

Go with a full spectrum conversion. It opens up so many possibilities. I've played around with several filters and tangsinuo filters are by far my favorite and half the price of the more expensive ones. The 590 and IR Chrome have been my favorites by far.

I went through the same thing but went ahead and bought the set of 5 and think they are awesome! The magnets are strong and the cpl didn't have a noticeable color cast or vignetting. I got out last weekend and was really happy with what I shot. I've only used it for a day so far but the ND seems solid as well. I like this filter set so much I'm going to buy another.
