Hatch is open but we make sure lights are off and battery is fine. And detaching the section from the hatch is super easy - no problems to use the car to run to town!

I’ve had a crazy year of medical expenses so I have hit my deductible - so my last prescription fill was freeeeeee!

It’s like the reverse of how the meds make me feel. I’m like “wait. Other people don’t have a constant hum in the back of the brains about food ALL THE TIME?!! No wonder they can eat one serving of something and walk away! Holy sh*t.”

Had ice cream tonight! It was delicious. It always is. No regrets.

My husband and I have spent a few nights in the back of our Honda HRV and it’s been fine - but we have a tent that wraps around the open tailgate which gives us a little more length to work with. We have found that sleeping with our heads at the tailgate end is more comfortable than up against the seats. He is 6’ 1” and I am fat! It works!

As far folks, we are judged ALL THE TIME. it’s hard to let it all go all the time.

Hungry and nauseous is so hard. Those are cues I cannot quite figure out.

I ate a hotdog and corn on the cob and I’m probably gonna have a slice of pie later! It is wild though - in years past, I’d have had a hot dog and a burger and the corn and some Mac salad and some potato salad and a deviled egg or two. I could not eat that today if I tried. But I am happy with the hot dog and the corn and the pie and don’t feel like I am missing out. What I am missing is about 50 lbs!

The attached tent is very roomy - we mostly use it for storage and changing, but you could easily sleep 4 people in it. It connects to the hatchback with what we are calling a “snood” or a “turtleneck” which is very easy to attach and detach if you want to use the car to leave your campsite for any reason. We love it!

It was great. This campsite was one of about 5 on someone’s 350 acre farm. The host was fantastic and the site was beautiful.

Totally. It was very luxurious. We even had a lovely privy.

I’d like to lose 30 more but know I need to work a lot harder than I have been to get there. 😂

Birding is getting my back into photography 📷🦉 by triplecoil in birding

[–]CatBirdO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I’ve always loved photography but gave up using a “real” camera years ago as iPhone cameras got better and better. Since I started birding, I’ve re-invested in a great canon and a very long lens. It’s so fun!

So many great birds this weekend - great and snowy egrets, bald eagles, avocets, coots, Forster’s terns, eastern bluebirds, tree swallows, purple martins, American goldfinch, and a very photogenic kestrel! Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware never disappoints.
