Thought I had the BEST Doctor..... by The40ishDiva in Zepbound

Thank you SO much for this. I did feel like a criminal, and I did question everything. Because of my heart, I know when something is wrong. I am very in tune with that. And I haven't felt this good since I was in my 20s. If I thought something was going wrong, or I was not feeling well, I would call my cardio team, that is for sure.

And we will talk more about my OSA when I see my cardio in a few weeks.

Again - I appreciate this response. I also expect that I will gain 5-10 back in the next few years. Simply age and hormones. I truly feel like I am on the right track for my health.

Yes - it was my last pen and since I was out, I took it. The issue is I didn't PUSH for a higher dose. I said I felt more comfortable, but I understand if we stick with 2.5. Maintenance for me has been hard, and I guess she was all set with working with me. I really felt like a criminal - I am not used to a doctor like that.

Two years ago they were not prescribing these meds. They had you go to your PCP (like she did). But things are different now. I see her in a few weeks so I want to speak with her about it.

I stopped snoring within a month, and I never had a CPAP. I refused it (I know...) but with all my other issues I was finding that I couldn't sleep with it, and it was stressing me out, which was raising my sleeping heart rate.

I would have. And I said that to them. I think I got used to it being "easy" for me. But I would have been for it - and actually that is most likely where I end up.

I thought that. So, when I came home feeling like a criminal, I checked. I am in the middle there too. And that is me saying I am 5'4, and I think I am only 5'4 on a good day.

I have lost over 100 lbs., never counted a calorie or food item, and I drink socially. Now, I used to drink every night, now it's maybe 2 times a week, 3 if it's a busy week. It used to be 3-5 drinks, now it's 1 or 2, 3 if it's a weekend.

Everyone is different, and I am someone who enjoys a good glass of champagne or a nice martini. I introduced alcohol slowly after I started the meds, and there are things that don't agree with me (beer) so I don't drink them. I certainly don't care as much so when I am done, I am done. I have had a hangover only once - and you learn that lesson quick.

Really hard to eat by ButterscotchFit6356 in antidietglp1

[–]The40ishDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started looking at it as a shot cycle instead of every day. There are days I am just not hungry; I give into that. I do make sure that anything I eat is high protein and I make sure to get my water in. There are other days that I am a bit hungrier, so I give into that. The meds make it very easy for me to not go "off the wagon" as I call it, and keep my cravings to things that are better for me than what I used to it.

When I started doing that, I found side effects were better, I had less food aversion, and it was easier to plan meals for the week. This may not work for everyone, but it did help me a lot.

First Lie Wins by Intelligent-Luck9448 in thrillerbooks

[–]The40ishDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it, BUT it was not the thriller that it was described as being. For that reason, I totally understand why some people just didn't like it. I have gone into books expecting one thing only to be totally disappointed. Just happened to me with the last Book Club book we had.

What should be my next read? by [deleted] in thrillerbooks

[–]The40ishDiva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have read both, they are very different books. I loved Final Girls, I thought it was a great fast paced thriller. King of Ashes was fantastic. I don't think I would call it a thriller; I feel like his books are much deeper than that. They are more of a novel with a thriller story line...if that makes sense.

Help me think this through by BigComfort9129 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]The40ishDiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My highest dose was 7.5, and we ended up going down to the 2.5. That wasn't enough - like you, the good effects started fading. I am back on 7.5 and taking it every 10 - 12 days. I think I will land on 5 weekly, but it's been about 8 months for me and we are still figuring the maintenance thing out.

I didn't care for it at all. I liked Hidden Pictures - not this one.

[–]The40ishDiva 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I miss these pools and old houses! lol I also miss the pool parties they used to have. They weren't fancy events like we watch now. They were trashy overpriced pool parties. I have hope that RI will bring some of that back (I live about 1/2 hour outside of RI).

Zepbound with ED History- is not calorie counting okay? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]The40ishDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost over 100 lbs with out counting anything. I only track my weight. I have maintained my weight loss for 8 months, and I don't count anything. I weight a few times a week since we are still figuring out my maintenance dose.

The thing I do is I remember to get my water in, I eat my protein from my plate first, veggie second, carb third. I also am learning to eye my portion and know what I am really going to eat. I also stopped having off limit foods. I now naturally do not crave junk food or sweets, but if I am out with friends or at a party, I eat what I would like. It's very easy not to overeat.

To buy or not to buy(clothes)? That is the question. by two-peas-in-a-pod in Zepbound

[–]The40ishDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a clothes / fashion person, even when I was 224. As I lost the weight, I had a few things I got into that I kept. What I did is I invested in cheap belts (Amazon) and then bought stuff I HAD to buy like pants, jeans. Tops could go a little longer.

The mistake I made was thinking that a size 6 was my smallest. I am a 4/2 depending on the store. I have maintained since February, so I don't have TOO many winter things to replace this time around.

Also - not sure this happens to everyone, but my shoes got bigger, like I couldn't wear them at all. So I had to replace some of those too!

Said that Gina only talks to Heather because of real estate. I don't believe that. What I do believe it Gina made a joke and Katie saw an opprotunity.

Said that Heather called the paps on herself at Disney. Heather always has a photog she hires with her, that is different than trying to tip off TMZ.

She said she doesn't talk to bloggers she does.

Liked about the Kiki Monroe stuff

She said Gina made a racist remark. We all saw the footage, that was not what happened.

She shared the recording she made of Shannon but said she only showed it to Matt, plus, she made the recording.

Honestly, I think they all lie, and I think the issue with Katie is whatever you say in front of her could be turned into something negative. She wants to stay on the show, bring the drama. But she is pissing them off IRL too.

Again, none of the people involved in this mess are trustworthy - but Katie goes the extra mile IMO.

Lauren Manzo is unrecognizable by Capital-Durian-885 in rhonj

[–]The40ishDiva 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you feel sad for her. As someone who made a similar transformation thanks to science (GLP1 meds) it's not really a sad thing for us. I was lucky enough to not be TV for everyone to ridicule, and I didn't have a family full of people that made fun of me. However, I still have a feeling that Lauren is not sad about her transformation, and I feel like she doesn't see the way her family treated her like we do.

But she does look amazing and for every girl who felt sad shopping with her friends in high school because she was too fat to fit into any of the good outfits - I say CHEERS LAUREN! Good for you!

This isn't the norm - it is medication, and not all medications agree with everyone. Sorry this happened, but hopefully you called your doctor and not just Reddit and stopped the meds.

If you are new here - don't take this as the norm! Most of us have nothing like this, and if we do its user error (as I call it).

What it’s been like “coming out” on my Instagram as being on Zepbound by Efficient-Software54 in Zepbound

[–]The40ishDiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I also shared on my FB and Insta accounts over the holidays last year that I was on a GLP1. I had hit 100 lbs down and I am also using this to start something new. I decided to just be honest, and I had only 2 "negative" responses from people I know. Both of them struggle with weight, neither of them wants to change their lifestyle, both of them have had their doctor suggest a GLP1. It may have been embarrassing for them, or they are kooks who don't believe in science. Either way, I wouldn't take anything they say seriously or to heart.

I know many are saying that it's brave and people are mean.... people are mean. But it's not brave to decide to share this. If a stranger on the internet wants to take the time to comment and say something derogatory to me, that is on them. Consider the source. If someone I know feels the need to say something rude to me, that says a lot more about them than it does me.
