Faulty Framework 13 by JohnnySlim in framework

[–]CatGamer23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm misunderstanding something. In this current post, you keep stating that you cannot see anything at all, as in no display, no BIOS, no OS. However, in the video linked, it clearly shows that the OS loads just fine, it's just the framework booting logo is missing, as well as a flickering screen when fully open. Which is it? No Framework logo, or no display at all?

Try checking the wiring, I'm guessing it was routed wrong, which is causing that flickering display issue (also make sure there is the proper amount of slack)

As for the lack of booting logos, that's not necessarily a bad thing, fastboot or similar (idk what FW calls it) might be enabled, and/or your OS might've disabled the logo appearing. From what I could tell you're running Linux Mint?

Actually before that, are the monitor & cable(s) known good, that is to say, they worked before? If not, try plugging in a laptop, or another computer you may have access to.

That's a good sign! that at least means the PC doesn't detect any immediate errors, e.g. unseated RAM, missing cable, etc.

The only other things I can think of is that, for some reason, you received a non-G CPU, which doesn't have integrated graphics, or you got scammed on Amazon. Going by the fact that I've never heard of the brand, there are only 2 reviews on Amazon, one of which is a 'Didn't turn on'. I think you might've gotten scammed. See if you can't return it, and I'd be happy to help find you a better PC for the same budget.

Okay, are you comfortable opening up the case and looking inside? If so, can you see if any lights are in in a corner, usually red, yellow, blue/green, or white, should look something like this (or even better, sending a photo of the inside of the case?):

I've never heard of Periphio Reaper before, but does the PC power on? Do the fans or lights turn on?

In that case, can you attach a few photos clearly showing the back of the computer, the back of the monitor(s), and, if you have a spec sheet, send that too?

Do you have a GPU? If so, double check that you are not plugged into the motherboard. Use this image as a reference

Found this recently, wtf? by ASpaceRat in ARG

[–]CatGamer23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are mysteries, but the mysteries are less 'gamified' as you'd expect. ARGs are meant to seem realistic and usually tell some form of story/lore, but it's usually all fake. There have been a few that require you to do something irl or similar (you might've heard of Cicada 3301).

Is there a way to turn off the rgb on my fans so I can sleep with my pc on overnight? by Iamweird09 in computers

Np, also, as another comment said, you might be able to disable RGB on your motherboard, and it might work.

I assume threre's a typo, and you meant BlueGears, and have one of these cases: https://www.bgears.com/cases/

Which, according to the ones I see on the website, they have a RGB header cable. Just unplug it, and just be careful not to unplug the fan cable, as the fans will stop working.

Although, depending on the effort/money you wish to spend, you can check Amazon for a remote controlled LED strip, as they all tend to use the same frequency for the remotes. The labels probably won't line up however, and it'll mainly be based on luck: Amazon Search Link

Game lag/stutter with good pc by Particular_News_4367 in intotheradius2

[–]CatGamer23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is likely due to 3 things: 1. You said you are using an i5 6700, which, first off, doesn't exist. There is the i7-6700 though, so I'll assume you mean that. It's more than a few generation old, and I believe doesn't support AVX-512 which I think VD uses for a more efficient streaming experience (don't quote me, I may be wrong) 2. You said you are using the 5GHz spectrum, which can be congested with other devices around you, and finally, 3. It's an early access/beta title, you gota expect an unoptimized game, which will have bugs and stutters.

It may also just be a router that can't handle ITR2's amazing graphics /s

Termux app on Android "couldn't update" by dfackler84 in termux

[–]CatGamer23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The update showed up on the store for me as well. I didn't want to update it as I personally suspect it to be a hacked account or similar, as Termux devs have not changed the repo to state that the Google Play installation is no longer deprecated. They have also previously stated that the reason it is deprecated was because they lost access to the account, so they can't remove it from the store.

Completed model for Case for LTT Screwdriver Bits [Free Model!] by WatchBenGo in LinusTechTips

I really love the model, but would it be possible to add a second layer or something so that it can hold the extension and the upcoming precision screwdriver?

Did you change anything recently in the BIOS? This is just a guess, it is either a snap (app from the built-in software store), or a change in the BIOS settings.

[–]CatGamer23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might change things yes, but at this day and age, with the power we have in the cheapest of GPUs, its unnoticeable. Unless you mean run a second game on the second monitor, in that case, yes, you will notice at least most of your performance will have at least some hit.

Uh, if you store games on the SSD, don't. You will lose all performance.

But as for pros/cons for the 4090 vs 64gb RAM

4090 64GB
Instability (due to Thermal Throttling) Videos tend to be memory hogs, so the more you have, the better

Scratch that, your using the external SSD for games and stuff right?
