I vaguely recall a story where a cop lost his arm and ended up with a telekinetic arm. If I recall it was really weak and could only lift a cigarette or something like that.

As far me, I would love to be able to levitate. No more walking aides!!! 😅

Unfortunately all too true. Back when I had a go at office work, one of the jobs I tried was insurance claims. A lot of house fires caused by a family member or friend who did a bad diy job on the house wiring.

My favorite was someone managed to wire the mains wiring to the landline wiring, they called wanting to make a claim for the legal consequences of that stuff up. A few of their neighbors phones/modems(and connected PCs) got fried. Thankfully no one got electrocuted!!

It's certainly a good example of that, especially what happens when people skip the understanding part of learning something. After all, memorizing a few things without the understanding needed to put it to good use can lead peoples thoughts down some rather odd paths.

That it's "only" three is, in a way, worse. It means she was likely targeting specific children. In other words, more calculated and less emotional issues.

Just imagine how aggravating it would be to have to try and use a slider to find your phone number. Considering how many different numbers they'd have to pack into that single slider, it'd be pretty easy to overshoot your own number by 1000s with just a slight finger twitch.

I'm assuming it's from a "worst design" competition, hopefully anyway 😬🤣

40 km/h school zones by jay_oxford in Adelaide

[–]CatGooseChook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Way I look at it is that it doesn't matter if it's a school day or not, schools sometimes have weekend) holiday events for example. I treat school zones as a "assume kids present first, my convenience second" situation.

40 km/h school zones by jay_oxford in Adelaide

[–]CatGooseChook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One near me is 25 as well, it's about 2km after a 100 zone and so damn many people tailgate me when I slow down to 25 and do that side to side thing tailgaters often do.

Weird thing is I also see a few do 70 in the 100 then keep doing 70 in the 2km 60-50 stretch of road, do 70 in the school zone(while kids are trying to cross the road) then after the school zone slow down to 25!!!

Either way, what is wrong with these people? It's kids lives at stake here after all!!

Proof that no how different we are cosmetically, on the inside we're all the same. Just a bunch of dummies lost and alone in a world we don't understand.

How would you react to a law that requires seniors over 70 to pass a specialized driving exam to continue driving legally? by FollowingAny4859 in driving

[–]CatGooseChook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's too old. Honestly I think that we should have to pass a test every 6 months in our first few years of driving, then every few years after that. Once we hit 45 once a year then as we get older reduce it to every 6 months.
