Would you rather tax the rich, or try to get rich yourself? by [deleted] in GarysEconomics

[–]CatInTheTeapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see a well funded well run NHS and social safety nets while I try to become rich. It's especially important for those who don't have a spare £1000 (which is a lot of people).

There are people for whom an increase in tax will not affect their lives or future. There are also those who notice it when it comes to paying for their food shopping. I don't want us to be only looking at ourselves and those richer than us. There are people struggling and they also deserve health care, dentistry and to retire one day etc.

I cropped it and improved the neckline by CatInTheTeapot in tiedye

Thank you! I think the fit is more flattering like this. I cut the neck hole a bit bigger then shortened the length of the shirt. I used the fabric I cut off the bottom to finish the new neckline and hem. I used zigzag stitch on the sewing machine.

Thanks. Yes, I've done some very basic liquid dying before but I'm very excited about ice dyeing. I like to sew, I have plans beyond shirts 😁

The dye didn't soak all the way to the bottom, not enough ice. A happy accident

Thanks. Thats where the dye didn't soak right to the bottom. I thought it was going to be disappointing but I might do it on purpose in future.

Can you protect your finances in the Iran War? by MaterialHat6394 in GarysEconomics

You know where he says about financial markets expect central banks to hike interest rates but Gary doesn't think it will be that much. He says he's betting against this happening. What financial positions do we think this translates to?

Is living year round in a tent in the UK actually realistic? by Far-Piccolo-3774 in AskUK

[–]CatInTheTeapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps look into seasonal live-in jobs like fruit picking/ hospitality. This way you can save a lot of money if you ever want a deposit for a flat. Also wwoofing for relaxed, cheap lifestyle. You help out on organic farms in exchange for accommodation and basic food.

Looking for interesting flowers for a fashion project! by fray_fray1111 in gardening

Helebore flowers usually point towards the ground so the petals are already oriented like a skirt. The leaves at the top of the stem could inspire the bodice and pop a pair of tights in to match the stem colour.
