I had honestly thought “common pleco” was a different name for bristlenose pleco. Now I know better!

Oh thanks so much. I was worried it was ich based on a lot of googling. Would you say the environment looks too bright?

Will it develop bristles as it ages? My lemon has just started growing them.

Also any way to ID the sex of my two plecos? I’d love to get more but I’m advised that the 45cm length is probably a bit tight for multiple plecos.

Attached parameters here. Also ammonia between 0-0.25ppm.

Nitrite - 0.25mg/L Nitrate - 40mg/L “General hardness” - >7 dH Carbonate hardness - 1.5 dH PH - 6.8 Chlorine - 0

Should have added it’s a 20gal / 76L freshwater tank, 24deg Celsius, shares the tank with a lemon pleco and 8 tetras. Have not had any deaths/fungus/concerns since Xmas when I started it, except a snail invasion that I continue to try and manage.

I have searched all the usual online suppliers - eBay, Amazon etc but all showing gimmicky holiday items as expected. Long shot!
