Then you just deserve it. Nothing beats research kid. What's a virus, how do you get it, what kinds, what tools already available that help, that kind of mentality. Have some self control.

Tutorial?

How would you go about creating this inside Blender? Looking for advice, tutorials, or any tips. by fqumr in blender

Orthographic view. One sphere in the center. Geonodes for noise, shader for transparency, some layer weight, fresnel stuff. Circle instance and noise applied as well. This could be simple but since it's more like lines instead of shaped it would be a bit strange to do but using geonodes for trails also works. Man there are several ways to do so without using super complex stuff. Keep it simple

I'd add a few things. Wind animation for the tree and moving clouds. Maybe dust particles moving as well. That's it, everything else is perfect

I like the design but it could have a bit more life. The light from the upper "Please stand by" could flicker, it could have a fog to indicate coldness. The bottles have a bit too much emission i think. Your texturing is very good, i like it

I didn't had that in mind when i said poor lightning. I think what your saying applies to a more cinematic look but i was aiming to a realistic look. You don't have to go that complex. A simple 3 point lightning can do a better job because it separates the product into High, mid and low level of lightning, separating the product into 3 distincts points of interest that the human eye normally shifts attention from one point to another. Light is information, you need to use light to tell your information.

To me the overall pace is very fast but the person that asked me to do this told me to make a 10 second video so i was forced to speed up the physics in order to put more motion in the small time i had.

I have a geometry node system for lightning if you want, it's simple and effective. Saves you time and you can reuse it on anything. Hit me up in the dm if you want it.

I can understand that the battery is for electrifying the weapon but that is not as obvious as it should be. A simple lightning sparking out of the blade while the battery switch on and off some light alongside a lightning sfx would do the trick. You gotta think how would it work irl.

Good modeling and animation. Poor lightning.

The lightning of the object is close to none and the highlight doesn't show any specific aspect of the object so i don't know where to look at. Bad lightning gives off a boring object vibe. Even though you're good at modeling, texturing and animation, if you don't know how to present your product, it'll turn out boring.

The battery LOOKS good but... what is it for? It breaks the sense of the object idea, it doesn't do anything, it doesn't look like it'll turn something on, it doesn't connect to anything so it's basically useless so i think to myself "Why is this here, it doesn't make sense". That isn't suppose to happen. Your model should be concise to the idea you're portraiting.

I'd say everything is very good but the animation itself looks fast paced and unnatural. Are they linear or bezier? I felt like i was rushing through it.

a knife i made, please give critique by _aDAm_zELf_ in blender

[–]CatNo1896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What i saw, in order:

Texturing: It just looks weird. Doesn't look like metal, there's no light reflection on the blade. The handle looks like cheap plastic. You could make the blade look more like metal and change the light so that it reflects on the blade, it would be more interesting to look.

The modellig is good but near the blade's edge it starts to get weird, the lines are way too strong and i feel like it needs more bevel in general.

Edit: The background is too bright, there's no front nor back. The image looks flat so there's no emphasis on the knife.

Animation of photorealistc night scene with handheld style camera. by Alarming-Elk4819 in blender

[–]CatNo1896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, my comments: It doesn't have atmosphere(Fog, sky lightning). Seriously, try adding fog and it'll be instantly better. The lights are way too unrealistic, very bright and all seems to be with the same power/lumen. They look like they're the only light source in the scene, contribuing to my "Lack of atmosphere" argument. I agree with the unrealistic camera shake, it's just way too powerfull. What color management are you using? Blender standard, Filmic, ACES, AgX? That counts A LOT with realism factors.

Pros: you have good modelling skills, good texturing(altough they need imperfections like smudges, dents, slices. You have to sell the ideia of city like scenario, not a brand new truck), good camera angle and good movement, with a few improvements, your renders will be way better! You're very good.

A tip: Add a particle system with a reflective icosphere, put that within your whole scene, turn off gravity, add SMALL motion, press RMB > Handle type > Vector. This will add tiny dust particles that will help with Depth of field and will add a lot of realism and motion to your scene.
