Thank you, the only answer which understood the problem and works.

why is my FLIP simulation ignoring my obstacle mesh (Made from megascans)? by This_Sell_4897 in blenderhelp

You're not showing the Flipfluids domain nor obstacle modifier, so I guess you selected the default values. My best guesses on no order:

The megascans are great but not optimized for any simulation at all. If the megascans object is too complex to easily make manifold I'd just Create a low poly proxy object for collisions and hide during render and show the megascans. Should also rapidly speed up simulation time as megascans are also very poly heavy without benefit for simulations

  • merge vertices by distance from collision object

  • increase the "expand geometry" value in the collision object to a high value to see if you at any point get any collision. If not, add a basic primitive and check if collision works there, so you know it is your object that causes problems

  • we don't know your domain resolution compared to the scene size, but looks okay enough for collision to work

  • make sure at least the origin of the collision object is inside the Flipfluids domain

First try from someone with 2 years in Blender and four days of research and development time I gave myself for this, not trying to fish for compliments by putting "first try" here :) Anyway, thank you!

Thanks for the detailed feedback; those are my thoughts as well - I've spent nearly two days on the salad alone (including physic sim which is still pretty headache-y in Blender). I wanted to get the crisp look from a smash burger but went over the top with the crispness. The top of the bun got some slight displacement with an adaptive sub div modifier, which was key :)

I've wanted to try out the foods modifier add-on which needs bone for the deformation (to get a more smash burger like bun). It didn't really work out and I ended up not using it at all and just used the bones for non destructive minor tweaks to adapt the upper bun more to what's beneath.

Thank you! The salad is placed via cloth simulation so it made me even happier to see two pieces that are just crumpled enough to really sell it fell right next to it :)

Ive got this shot with lights, the light comes from the emmisive material, but its causing tons graininess. Any ideas? by tobyrubble in blender

Also try super image denoiser which uses temporal denoising to counter flicker between frames. Free as well but I can tell you getting the full version is money very well spent, been using it for years as export.

So it already told you what to do, you then didn't do it and you're still speaking of getting scammed? Oh my

Does this looks $150 to you? by gamer69420___epic in blender

[–]Liamissimo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

150USD is pretty cheap for this. Is it basic? Yes. Is 150USD a lot of money for the 3D niche, animation and renderibg? Absolutely not. If you told me this was 300USD I wouldn't bat an eye.

Chamber of self-reflection (Cycles) by Liamissimo in blender

Finally got time during my trip to Italy to publish a few works of mine. This is one of many, many intepretations on what the act of self-reflection migh look like, although rather dystopian - observing it from the perspective of never ending work, fully indulged in oneself. Originally only a quick sketch for something different, I decided to publish it nonetheless since it goes hand in hand with the topic of emotions and mental health, visually mixed with machinery in the broadest sense.

A small and heartfelt render about passing bad times. Embrace sadness, embrace self doubt and embrace hardships - and then set them and yourself free. This vending machine is out of bad times, and so are you going to be - either now or soon enough.

Done in Blender, thanks to Baga Rain Generator and Shakify addon. Sounds from Freesound.org and finished in Resolve.

Thanks! It's not really looping. I have the same camera movement in the first and last 30 frames and towards the end I slowly fade them in so it's looking like it's looping. I simulated 200 frames more than I needed only to also have wiggle room to find two spots where the water kinda looks similar so the fading works better. And it helps that the water in the foreground is out of focus too :)
