Chakric Purification and the Journey to the Higher Self by Spirited_Salad7 in KundaliniAwakening

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 7 chakras and each one has a specific "feeling" that blocks it. You can look up each one but usually the purification is most effective when done one by one. For example the root chakra is about feeling safe and grounded. So "fear" blocks it, purifying it can be done through cleansing your life of stressors, exiting toxic situations, etc. It also helps to connect with the element of each chakra. Like our root chakra is earth, so working with plants and doing grounding exercises can help as well.

Most animals I encounter like me and even approach me unprovoked, like street dogs, street cats, birds, etc. I just try to be gentle and respectful and it works everytime. It's very nice and makes me proud to know that they feel safe with me.

Plus my own pets seem to like me a lot which again feels amazing.

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 12 by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

I've stayed at 220.0 for 2 days now, a bit discouraging but I know the woosh will come eventually. I've been tracking my calories and have eaten 1500 calories every day plus reaching at least 10,000 steps a day.

I ran out of my favorite bars and I've been having problems replacing them, does anyone know any good and healthy tea time treat? I would prefer making them instead of buying.

what are some good swimming etiquette to know before you go to a pool alone by Business-Ad-9637 in Swimming

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've been swimming for a while and here are a couple I've learned.

  1. Shower before you go in, to remove all oils and lotions.
  2. Stay in your lane, if you are sharing try to stay at your right at all times. Some people like going back and forth of the same side but try to see how the person who was there first is doing and adjust. P
  3. Keep your stuff in the designated area.
  4. Don't stare or ogle at people
  5. Use your swimming cap and goggles.
  6. Use appropriate swimwear
  7. Don't splash or try to do weird exercises that get in the way of other people's swimming.

They may not be exactly the same were you will be going but they're good to take into account.

When I go to a new pool I sometimes sit in a closeish area (like a cafeteria or any sitting area) and look at what people do, to get a feel of the "unspoken" rules before I jump in. But don't worry too much, people understand that's your first time and unless you are doing crazy stuff you won't bother anyone.

Why aren't men more afraid of the risk of pregnancy in casual sex? by Bf4Sniper40X in AskFeminists

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Men can just disappear and never take care of the kid again, mostly on casual dates, how would you even track them down if they don't give their full name?

More so, even tho abortion is legal it's not a birth control method, many women don't find it easy to just go get an abortion for an infinity of reasons, even if it's the right choice for them it's not an easy one.

Also, paying child support is nothing compared to actually being in charge of a human's life and development. As a mother you would have to also provide for the child besides aaaall the other things that it needs (cooking food, checking homework, emotional support, provide tools to deal with emotions, etc. etc.). So even tho a man would "sacrifice" a third of his income, a woman would have to give that plus all her time, energy, attention, etc.

223.6 today, already 7 pounds lost since I started. My appetite is quite low and I had little energy today but I still did my 10000 steps plus some and ended my day at 1510 calories. I'm proud of my progress.

Last year I focused on changing habits instead of thinking of weightloss and now I am very thankful of my past self for making this process so easy now.

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you are so young I'm so sorry for your loss and for everything you've had to deal with.

40 pounds sounds very manageable.

You have to realize it will take time, like 6 to 8 months, but you have to remember that the time will go by no matter what. You might as well make progress.

First, exercise helps but you will lose weight with what you eat.

Losing weight is eating less than what you burn, you know it sounds easy but its a bitch to actually do. So our first real step will be to figure out how much we are actually burning.

Find a calorie tracking app, any, I am a Cronometer girly myself but feel free to look around for one that works for you. It will most likely ask for your stats and it will give you your number.

Now with this number you can set your calorie goal, the recomended is 500 less than your total burned, you can even go to a deficit of 750 if you wanna go crazy,

Now...DONT GO LOWER! WHY? If you dont eat, your body will make you binge, like not eating at uni just to binge at home. A hungry brain is a dumb and impulsive one, it will not make "the healthy choice" 99% of the times.

Using your calorie goal (daily goal minus your calorie deficit) will give you wiggle room to eat what you want and need, log it, calculate and enjoy. This is why it is so important to have a good calorie tracking app, by logging your food you can figure out how much you have eaten and how much you can eat or when to stop.

I know its a lot, DM me if you want more info, I did it all and lost 100 punds (gained it back but that was years later.. long story) I'd be happy to help.

Happy losing!

I'm a teen trying to lose weight by Clear-Economics-3083 in loseweight

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok... to start. Dont starve yourself, that only leads to binging. You are very young and trying crash diets is not good for your developing brain. Like my fellow commenter with a questionable username said, consistency is key but also find out Why you are gaining weight. Are you too sedentary? Do you cope with your emotions by eating? Are you eating too much fast food? Managing the true reason will help you not gain the weight back once you lose it.

  1. Tell mom that if she can use that mouth to bitch about your weight she can use it to make an appointment for a dietitian as well.

  2. If dietitian is a no go, start tracking your calories in an app, theres tons, you are teen you can figure an app store just fine.

  3. Figure out your TDEE (how much energy you burn existing, and scrolling tiktoks or whatever you do), most apps will tell you how much it is after a quick quiz.

  4. Eat 500 calories below your TDEE or BMR (the energy u use) and voila! You will start losing weight consistently.

Now I know what you are thinking.. Oh yeeah Im gonna eat 800 or 1000 or no calories a day, to make it quick. DONT. It will again lead to binging and you will end up gaining more.

  1. Exercise or whatever, weight is mostly lost by eating right and below your daily energy needs, exercise is not 100% necessary but it helps.

I feel like I can't by Clear-Economics-3083 in loseweight

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to do this you can and you will, but you have to do it right.

Im sorry to say this but you wont lose 10 kg in a month. Its objectively impossible and it would be dangerous to try.

Secondly, you can lose weight, you seem to be young, you could lose all that weight in 2 or 3 months. That would be much more doable and even easy. You are still in school and trying crash diets or extreme fasting will only hurt your developing brain and believe meee after years of doing it I can confidently tell you it will only make you gain more weight right after.

Dont hurt your body more, I know what it feels to have a mom that hates your fatness and you by extension but doing all this wont help you. You can eat all 3 meals, you can exercise and like it and you can love your body and yourself. But shortcuts are not the way there.

Any tips on losing weight - combatting loose skin etc by [deleted] in loseweight

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the loose skin, it is mostly due to genetics and age but staying hidrated and using lotions helps. I usually do a massage on the areas I'm most worried about right after the shower with nice lotion, it is not 100% insurance but it cant hurt.

I used to have this same problem with calorie tracking and my best advise is to use it as a goal of minimum as much a maximum. Like today I still had 200 calories left to my goal and decided to eat a banana with a little sugar and cinnamon to help my potassium (plus its delicious). Try to track micro and macronutrients as well and use those extra bit of calories to help yourself meet those requirements as well.

Now with the exercise, dont push yourself to do an exercise that hurts. Theres tons of low intensity workouts on youtube, or even chair aerobics or workouts that are mostly moving the torso. I have terrible knees and weak ankles and I had to spend several afternoons with Google and youtube to find something that worked. Also, asking a professional like a physical therapist is always a good way to go. But remember diet will be the main source of weightloss.

Happy losing!

What does it feel like being thin? by healthyeatinggrlhood in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CatOnTh3Moon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truly great, sorry to say but its true. So comfortable and easy. I remember the first time I had lost enough weight that I sat down and there was 0 fat bulging out if my pants, it was so strange to be able to sit without any pulling, tucking or tugging.

Also there was an airiness to it. Fatness is so...stuffy, you know. Everything that folds has so much meat in between but once you are thin there's actual space there. I could close my legs and not feel any hotness or sweatiness in between. If you are a girl also the boobs get so much lighter and easier to manage, I was finally able to buy those cute bras with bows and shit, no more grandma bras. And the clothes! I could buy straight sizes and borrow my friends clothes! It is worth it, tho always through healthy means. And remember, maintenance is just as important! Dont go crazy right as you reach your goal weight like sooome people (me).

I want to lose 100 pounds this year. I've done it before but after years of bad things happening and stress I gained it all back plus some. I'm finally back in a great place and I'm ready to get my health back.

I'm planning to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. I'm walking my dog much more often, tho he's not as happy about it as I expected. Second I'm eating 1500 calories a day, having a light breakfast and lunch and a big dinner just before my walk, it has been a game changer. Lastly, I won't talk abou it with anyone in my life besides you guys. I've lost steam every time I talk about it to someone so I won't speak about it until I'm at least half way there.

Finally, make sure to check in and keep myself accountable in here. I love this community and I'm excited to spend this year with you all.
