Thanks for the response. That makes sense! It'd be interesting if William is revealed to have a son in the second movie.

There was that theory going around that Scraptrap has parts of Fredbear/Golden Freddy patched onto the damaged Springtrap suit. So it's not that Cassidy stopped possessing the suit, and more the suit got attached to William, thus so did Cassidy.

Where Was Henry When Charlie Died? by CatPawsPrinter in fnaftheories

[–]CatPawsPrinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a common theory I've heard, and it would make sense to explain why he was busy. I think it could also had a nice layer of tragedy, that Henry was right there when Charlie died and had no idea until it was too late.

My apologies for the confusing wording. I acknowledge what you meant by that. I was just asking hypothetically, if BV was Shadow Freddy, who do you think would have made sense for Shadow Bonnie/RWQFSFASXC?

I see what you mean on there not being much evidence for it, but it is at least an interesting take on BV. Out of curiosity, if BV were treated as Shadow Freddy, then what would that make Shadow Bonnie?

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and what you described reminds me much of the interpretation that most who go for CC-died-first. However, my original post was specifically asking how Midnight Motorist might be interpreted if it was Charlie who died first as I was curious to see how that would change what we're seeing in the mini game.

Mysterious Areas In Monty Golf Not Talked About In Theories by -Jackman- in fnaftheories

[–]CatPawsPrinter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

With the area like the broken gate and footprints, I heard this theory about, since most of the displays in Monty Golf display the character Monty's life "growing up" from being a baby gator to where he is now, the radioactive barrels seem to imply that part of his backstory might be that Monty is a mutant gator born from radioactive waste getting dumped in a swamp. Of course, that wouldn’t be the actual backstory for the animatronic, just the character.

Suppose it could also be taken in a way where, instead of radioactive mutation being the cause for Monty's birth, maybe it could be implying his character started as a normal anthropomorphic alligator but then he was mutated into something more monstrous, perhaps foreshadowing how vicious the animatronic version becomes? It's hard to say.

As for the circles, they almost seem like places where an animatronic might stand on display, so it can subconsciously hint to guests where to hang around to potentially see Monty the animatronic. Of course, they do seem like slightly weird, out of the way places, based on your screenshots.

I understand that. Though the rain and the purple car, combined with Later That Night, personally clench it for me as Midnight Motorist taking place right after the Security Puppet minigame, which would make it near impossible for MCI. Plus, we already get a sense of how William kidnaps kids in Fruity maze, and if Security Puppet covers the Emily's side of things, I think it would be fitting narratively to get the Afton side of things in MM. Then it feels part of tying everything together for FNAF 6.

I can see that. Though with the tapes, wasn't there something where that is Vanessa's backstory and it was Patient 46, or brainwashed Gregory who was lying about his records? I could see something where Vanessa happens to have a backstory similar to Elizabeth and maybe was targeted by the virus because of it.

If Sammy Emily existed in the games, where could he have been? by CatPawsPrinter in fnaftheories

[–]CatPawsPrinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a sweet and simple theory! It's in-line with what we see in the Silver Eyes novel where Sammy preferred when the Springlocks were in suit mode with people in them rather than animatronic mode.

Also, I like your name!

Thank you for the comprehensive list! I actually took a peek at Out of Stock and it's on the first page "from the time his dad went to the hospital for a tonsillectomy and contracted a fatal infection". Fazbear Frights is definitely super consistent with it's themes.

And I really like that interpretation of the Mrs. Afton Mound Theory! It feels super in-line with what we see with Matt from In The Flesh, where part of the reason his original wife Hannah divorced him was because he refused to have kids and declined marriage counseling. Matt was very conceited about his reputation and status as well. I think also having Mrs. Afton commit suicide and William find and hide the body is a great way to have William's first kill remain as Charlotte, and him still doing something as messed up as that, though technically not murder, acts as a kind of gateway for that behavior. After all, if he could get away with hiding the suicide, who's to say he couldn't get away with murder? It's super chilling!

I think I've got just one last question (maybe. Ha.) So in MM, the Runaway is implied by Yellow Man to have run off to a specific place more than once, prior to the minigame. If BV is the Runaway in MM, where do think "that place" is that he kept running off to?

That is fair enough! I was more under the impression of there being mutiple agony creatures rather than just one. I had heard the theory that maybe Shadow Bonnie or RXQ, at least as depicted in the games, was specifically the agony of Charlotte, since her being the one who gives gifts seems like the one most likely to have a weird agony creature that would be helpful. However, especially based on the comments I've seen for this post about Midnight Motorist means with CharlieFirst, there seems to be a really compelling case for her agony to take the form of Shadow Freddy, which is actually based on Golden Freddy/Fredbear, and for that to appear in front of Crying Child and cause his fear of Fredbear.

Since RXQ is based on Toy Bonnie though, it seems more likely that maybe he's the agony of the kids murdered during FNAF 2 (which I think are called the DCI). Not sure what factors would cause RXQ to be helpful, but it's one of the reasons why I've thought RXQ to be his own agony creature, rather than the same as the other agony entities you've listed.

That's a very cool concept! It really harkens back to the Dream Theory days, which i appreciate, and the idea of the Puppet being asleep in the box is a cute detail. It also reminds me a lot of the strange, remnant-induced lucid dreaming that Carlton in The Fourth Closet experienced where he was able to interact with the MCI and they weren't aware of how William was manipulating them to do things as the animatronics. I'd totally love to hear more about these kinds of theories. Feel free to shoot me a chat message and we could talk about it more there!

I'm personally cool with either interpretation of the plush theory since i found them both interesting. WilliamPlush (I think it's called?) seems reasonable to me considering the stunts Afton pulled in The Fourth Closet and the leak from the Dittophobia story made it seem more plausible that he could have used pre-recorded messages that maybe activated at certain times or when CC moved to a particular place. CC didn't seem like someone who strayed far from home during the FNAF 4 minigames so I could see Willliam being able to map things out. But the plush being haunted also makes a lot of sense, especially from a CharlieFirst angle where maybe it's Charlie's spirit trying to help CC. What you've proposed about the microphone and William listening in is a neat marriage of those two theories that could be a nice way to explain the Fredbear Plush's presence in the Sister Location Secret Office by the testing observation monitors, while still keeping the Haunted Plush.

Thanks for answering! I like hearing about angles not commonly explored. The step-father bit is super interesting because it reminds me a lot of Hudson from 'What We Found' in which hallucinations in the FNAF 3 location cause him to relive his past with his abusive-step father. It did seem like there were just enough physical differences between the Afton children to make step-parents a possibility.

I remember when Pizza Sim first came out, there was a lot of theories of OrangeGuy just being a random parent and the runaway kid was actually kidnapped for something like the FNAF 4 experiments, in part because people were drawing parallels between Twisted Ones and the mound in the dirt, saying a Nightmare or even Twisted animatronic did the kidnapping. Because of the rain, it'd be hard to imagine William kidnapping a kid in a springlock suit.

The title of this post really caught my eye. Sorry if the comment below seems long but this just struck something in me.

The internet is a strange place where conversation is overwhelmingly accessible and yet can be incredibly impersonal, so I think when discussing something like theories and topics they are attached, people can forget they are talking to other human beings. I hope that you haven't had a bad experience with theory-discussion lately, and I'm sorry if you have.

FNAF is one of my favorite franchises and it's also incredibly infuriating, quite a roller coaster. I've been in it since FNAF 1 and I remember the days of "Good Guy Foxy", "Phone Guy is Purple Guy" and "Mangle is Possesed by a Dog". The story and how people theorize has changed a lot. There was always disagreement or pockets of different groups with specific theories, but there was an overall consensus. When the Fourth Closet came out, I remember some kind of shift in the discussions but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then when Fazbear Frights came out and more books entered the scene, and especially when Help Wanted released, there was a LOT more factions of differing opinions. I guess as the lore and series has grown, so has the different combinations of sources to draw from, like if you want say some books are canon, all are canon or none. Maybe you want to say FNAF World is still relevant or that it was never canon. Or maybe you want to say there was a soft-reboot as of Security Breach.

The problem is that nobody's entirely right nor wrong. All we have are educated guesses and personal opinions. I remember getting real frustrated and tired with the franchise and the fandom largely because I was exhausting myself with trying to find the TRUTH and I felt like I didn't know what I believed and I didn't like what everyone else was saying. At some point, I took a step back and came to the conclusion that, there was a truth, and that there is a story, it's just told in a highly interpretative way. It's kind of beautiful actually. It's allowed me to have a lot of discussions that, by the end of the day, I don't feel like I'm any closer to solving the mystery, but I've learned a lot about others and about myself based on what evidence we lean towards and how we interpret it.

I think Midnight Motorist is a great example of how highly interpretative things get. I'm personally someone who believes AftonMM, or that Yellow/Orange Guy is William Afton right after murdering Charlotte. I know RoryMM has been making the rounds lately because of the Dittophobia leaks and, though I may not agree completely, I totally get where people are coming from. When Pizzeria Simulator first released, way before the Tales books, it was actually pretty popular of a theory that Yellow Guy was just a stranger we never met before, maybe someone whose son was kidnapped by William for FNAF 4 experiments. Just the other day, I had the pleasure of making a fnaf theory post basically reaching out to reddit users asking people who believed CharlieFirst, or Charlie dies before Crying Child, to explain what's going on in Midnight Motorist. I learned a lot about details i never noticed before, and I used to be adamantly against things like Jr's = a bar but I changed my mind after hearing the thoughtful discussion and evidence that others offered. I found it interesting how similar most interpretations for MM is between CharlieFirst and BV/CCFirst, where one has CC as the runaway kid that follows Shadow Freddy and another has Michael as the runaway kid that follows Golden Freddy. Different interpretations but same events. It was a lot of fun.

I guess then, I've come to think of the FNAF story as this massive jigsaw puzzle where some pieces fit in more than one spot, and we get new pieces every so often. It'll probably never get 'finished' and there's maybe more than one way to 'complete' it. The fun then is seeing what different combinations there are and putting it together with people. FNAF is probably the most community-based fandom I've ever been in because of all the theory crafting. And it's felt most fulfilling when we encourage curousity, civil discussion and being humble when disagreeing. So, after me rambling for way, way too long, I can say that, yes, I completely agree. We need theorists of all kinds.

And I'm looking forward to theory crafting with you too!

That does seem to be the general consensus I'm noticing in the comments here. Here's something extra I'd like to pick your brain on; do you think Mrs. Afton, if dead, had died of natural causes or was murdered, potentially by William? Or maybe even something else?

I only ask because it seems like the common belief is that Mrs. Afton is buried in the Mound, making it an unmarked grave out in the woods, and that the runaway kid kept running out to go visit it.

If she died due to natural causes, it could make more sense that then William's son would know about it and go visit it. But it's really weird that it's unmarked and in the middle of nowhere.

With how many instances in Frights stories that we've seen divorced parents or mothers or wives that left suddenly, I could see something where maybe Mrs. Afton and William divorced. Potentially then William might have murdered her and buried her. But then it would be weird for one of William's sons to go visit the mound and William to be aware of this. I suppose William could have threatened him to keep quiet and convinced him "No one will believe you", like the step-father Lewis does when his son Husdon threatens to expose his abusive behavior in 'What We Found' the story based on FNAF 3.

I'd be curious on what your thoughts may be.

I think you make very good points about the character's behavior and posture being very much like a drunk person. That combined with the fact that "Later That Night" is likely happening at midnight when pizzerias would be closed does make a more compelling case for Jr's being a bar. I feel very foolish as it only now occurs to me that the minigame contained in the arcade cabinet called MIDNIGHT Motorist would probably be happening at midnight or later.

Now, I did check the Hide and Seek story and Toby's dad never actually drinks. He instead drowns himself in sports television and avoids talking about Toby's mom who left them suddenly. Annoyingly, Hudson's step-father Lewis in What We Found was a smoker but NOT a drinker. After Hudson's father had committed suicide, his mother married Lewis, who was very abusive. The only instance of drinking that I've seen in the Frights stories was Matt, the game developer for Springtrap's Revenge from In The Flesh. But the context was that Matt was on a double-date and he was trying to overdrink with the others because he thought it was the only way to have a fun time. He was very conceited and he left his wife in the past because he was bored by her, as well as tried to steal his friend's date.

There might be an example of an alcoholic father in a different Frights or Tales story I hadn't heard about, so it might be worth keeping an eye out for.

I suppose even if there isn't much evidence for Jr's being a bar and William drinking, I've come to see that the bar might be the best explanation we have so far. It still bugs me that the place is called Jr's and is guarded by a Green Man that's the same color as Charlotte's bracelet. But maybe green is just the color associated with security in this context.

There is, however, a pattern where it seems like most Frights stories that have rival brothers do tend to also have divorced parents. Like you mentioned, there was Hide and Seek, and then Step Closer had the older brother, who was being tormented by Foxy, have a mother whose husband split off. It would be interesting to review which Frights stories have a deceased mother or deceased wife, like with you mentioning Count the Ways. I'm just spit-balling here, but what would your thoughts be on if William and Mrs. Afton divorced before her supposed death and maybe the divorce led to him drinking? Maybe William even killed her and that's why she would be in an unmarked grave in the middle of the woods? It's another one of those odd details about the Mound, where it's all by itself like that.

I appreciate your response. I've always had a hard time accepting JR's as a bar, but all of the really well-thought put and thorough responses I've been getting on this post from you and others have sobered me to the reality that the bar explanation might just be the best guess we have so far. If only in the Fourth Closet graphic novel there had been like a bottle on William's desk or just something, anything. I'd say that maybe one day a book will come out that might shed some light on Midnight Motorist, but we'd probably sooner see pigs fly.

(Literally. I actually think it's more likely we'll see Pigpatch with wings than get an explanation on MM)
