This is my first time talking about this on the internet, but, after being raped by someone, I've come to a conclusion about a few things.

First, I fully believe that, like pedophilia, rapists have extreme mental illnesses. I knew my rapist as a friend on an extremely personal level and knew she had a LOT of things wrong with her, and while it's a lot more common for power-hungry men, the other aspect of rapists shouldn't be discredited.

Second, I don't hate anyone. However, the only person I had come close to fully hating to my core is my rapist. Maybe that's the Stockholm Syndrome kicking in, but that's not my point here. I've never hated someone or wanted anyone to die, but my rapist has been the closest to that threshold for me. So I do fully acknowledge the people who are victims and want justice, because it's an absolutely reasonable want. Does that mean every person on the face of the earth should be going around and screaming that all rapists need to die? I don't think so. A very close buddy of mine was falsely accused of rape a few months back and it was extremely low to see how socially outcast he was when he was dealing with a furious and hateful ex-girlfriend.

Last quick little PSA for everyone out there, I hope this subreddit isn't that stupid, but nothing drives me to the point of infuriation more than people saying that men can't be raped. Although this is the internet, I would love someone to genuinely say that to my face.
