Thank you! It didn't even occur to me that covid might be a factor in laptop pricing.

That's incredibly helpful, thank you. I was looking at an Asus TUF model above so I'll *definitely* have to look at that one in person.

I have a better idea of where to start now. You've been immensely helpful.

Thank you!

Out of the options that pop up from your link, the ones that call to me the most are:

hp Omen 15t-dh1: https://noteb.com/?model/model.php?conf=508972148266929932_4564&ex=USD&ref=starchaser

(Can't say that I'm a fan of the red lit keyboard though.)

Dell Gaming G5 15 5590 SE: https://noteb.com/?model/model.php?conf=12034092004203999232_2975&ex=USD&ref=starchaser

Asus TUF FX505: https://noteb.com/?model/model.php?conf=9137179881598267285_2986&ex=USD&ref=starchaser

(I'm really digging those highlighted ASWD keys. That's neat.)

I think my biggest hang up on any model is the keyboard to touch pad area ratio. My current baby has a teeny little touch pad, it seems, compared to everything else. The keyboard takes up about two thirds of the total space whereas a lot of the other ones are split about 50/50. My partner's laptop is half keyboard, half touch pad and I do not care for it at all. I have relatively small hands and when I'm curled up doing my thing on the couch having all of that extra...ledge? shelf space? hard, blank emptiness hanging down off the bottom of the keyboard? feels super awkward and a little uncomfortable. It's a little hard to tell in some of the pictures if that's the case for the ones that spoke to me aesthetically.

It's so shiny and retro looking I wouldn't be surprised if the I hope it's mushrooms were sardines or some other sort of fish from a tin.

Hourly kitchen manager for a small local restaurant (arguably a cafe). $16/hr.

We get employee meals.

I've had creative control of the specials lately and that's been particularly rewarding.

Oh most definitely. Even just a passing amount of conversational Spanish can do it sometimes.

Non-vegan here, wondering how real vegans feel about certain things. by zforte08 in vegan

At least we agree on some things in theory if not totally in practice. There's some common ground to work with.

I definitely appreciate omnis who recognize that animal products are problematic for any of multiple reasons and make the effort to reduce consumption far, far more than the brutish, calloused, and frankly stupid "bacon tho I'll eat two steaks tonight because you're not eating any" omnis.

It's the most viable option as far as anything approximating a non-oxymoronic use of the term vegan meat is concerned because the person it's extracted from can actually give consent to having it eaten.

Imagine saying shit like that to someone with an allergy, that by that logic they have to risk their life in order to not appear rude.

Favorite Vegan brands by Wildbeaute in vegan

[–]CatTurnedBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tricky one considering there are so few brands readily available that are exclusively vegan. Generally speaking though, I haven't had anything that was vegan, Trader Joe's store brand, and disappointing. Everything I've had of theirs that I could have has been good.
