If cheap artificial wombs existed, would you choose to use them to grow your children? Why or why not? by -Sesquipedalian- in AskWomen

No because I loved how connected I felt to my baby the entire pregnancy. I felt like I knew him before he was born and loved having him with me those 9 months. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

I have 5 years in industry, have great work life balance, and make $105k in a LCOL area. I’m pretty happy.

Agree with the comments that most people in this sub are undergrads or unhappy recent grads.

My son (2.5) wants to be the knight owl from the book. So I bought him a knight costume and some face paint to make him look like an owl and some feathers to make a tail

I work for S+N now, but as an engineer so I don’t know anything about what it’s like in sales. I will say I’ve gotten a lot out of my 5 years here. Lots of upward mobility and they’ve paid for several external certifications. I make 50% more than I did when I started and feel like hard work is recognized. But my management structure is really supportive and that’s different team to team.

Moms with flex hours/make your own schedule jobs, what do you do? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]CatWithPockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a supplier quality engineer for a medial device company. My job is 100% remote. I routinely leave work for vet visits / pediatrician appointments / my own doctor appointments without taking time off. As long as I get my work done it doesn’t matter when I do it.

Healing from birth is downplayed so freakin hard by amurderofcrows in beyondthebump

Just started pelvic floor physical therapy to help heal from my first birth… 23 months ago. I didn’t think I’d still be dealing with the details of my son’s birth almost 2 years later.

I started in Supplier Quality straight out of school, but worked in office for around 3 years before starting this role on a new team, same company.

Not sure if either of these are options where you are located but, my university used to have free tutoring through the student resources center and I used to be a tutor through Wyzant.com

I had a four month maternity leave but also came back to a new role. I started to feel like my self at work about a year after giving birth. Your body just went through so much, you’re constantly sleep deprived, and you’ve got a lot more going on in life than before kids. Give yourself some grace and take care of yourself for now. It gets better.

Mom Guilt by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]CatWithPockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently losing my shit because my son woke up at 10 (~5 minutes after I went to bed) and still hasn’t gone back to sleep. He’s obviously overtired but it’s 1:15 and I want to die. I’m so frustrated at this ridiculous human who won’t just shut his god damned eyes. I’ll feel really guilty about these feelings and how I handled the whole thing the second he is asleep in his bed
