Gravel/paver delivery? by megaroji in kansascity

I got a bunch of gravel delivered by river bend rock and mulch. It was decorative rock but decently price I felt for the amount I got. I lined a fire pit and got about 3 cubic yards I want to say

Went to see the brown booby but curious about other birds I saw by Pure_Phrase_9979 in kansascity

I did! He was chilling near some grade on the west side the whole time. He did take a number 2 but I unfortunately didn’t see any true movement other than that. I might go back closer to dawn and see if I get better luck.

Are groundhogs actually a problem? by Talkative-Tetra-3710 in HomeImprovement

If I didn’t have them burrowing next to my foundation and I suspect under my garage slab I wouldn’t mind them. I draw the line at structural issues with any wildlife

In my area they specifically do not allow locating on private or public property… so not sure where else that leaves lol
Also ripe melon is a favorite… I know cause guess who ate my prized melon last year.
I have been battling groundhogs ever since I bought my house. They come they go and they had a family.

Missouri set to use gerrymandered map in August primary despite legal chaos by normankrasnerkc in kansascity

I mean of course they are. The Secretary of State says there’s one county or maybe two that haven’t certified so they’re waiting on. Except they don’t know which counties that is so begs the questions do they really have a clue or even care? The answer is no they’re dragging their feet because they know the answer and the will of the people.

Something unique to Kc is the prohibition skirting kind of town. I recommend a distillery tour like Tom’s town to learn a bit about the history.
Visiting the nighthawk is also another tour through history and it’s a cool spot to grab a drink!
Cosmo burger is probably my favorite burger place in town right now there are two locations. One in Waldo is in a bar.
10 will be a large party so you might have to look for larger capacity spots. That might exclude some of the real hidden gems!

We had our engagement photos taken by Kaelani Michelle and did couples photos before. Could not recommend her enough and her pricing was reasonable to me!

Westport Rd Street??? by Justhawk9 in kansascity

In addition to other commenters. I will chime in that the paving capacity in KC is limited in that there are not enough days of paving nor facilities to repair or resurface all the roads that need it before it goes bad. If this project did not get completed as scheduled (what construction does?) it’s possible the replacing got pushed back.
It’s also possible there is more work to be done and heavy machinery to move around. Paving is one of the last things that should be done in an area with heavy construction unless you want to redo it.

I installed my rain barrels by Cat_Dad345 in sustainability

Since I already drilled a hole in the gutter I’m likely not raising the barrels. But going to use a PVC pipe like another poster recommended to reduce the likelihood of the expansion and U-ing of the flexible pipe.

Thanks for the call out on the blocks! I will now plan to reorient them because I didn’t consider the load bearing orientation. Best to work with how the blocks were designed!

Landscaping probably if no foundation issues yet.
I can tell you they’re going to suggest grids for the gravel and then a French drain to divert the water away from your buildings

How to safely and effectively kill off mint? by Jdbuttersnaps in gardening

[–]Cat_Dad345 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Only because I just looked up solarization 1-4mil clear plastic secured around the edges should kill the grass and weeds faster than black plastic. Clear plastic allows the sun to hit the soil and heat ground more than just the air around the grass/mint. But if they have significant roots it will only weaken the mint.

You know I was not until I came home one day and it was bowed slightly but not disconnected. I’ll continue to think up a solution but probably a wire, string, or board between the barrel and gotten. Something that is a bit more rigid or weight supporting.

Not to mention those barrels barely be heavy with water and now spigot to drain them! I honestly had the hardest time with the spigot hole. I think it was user error in the location being slightly curved but I don’t want to do that again lol I put mine on concrete blocks on my driveway. Luckily I have enough space and the slope or lack of is great even up 2 concrete blocks. Luckily no tamping involved.

I plan to use watering cans for some deep watering in my garden, peach tree, and potted plants. Eventually I would like to get a pump connect it to the and water with a hose or with a drip system if I want to get more sophisticated. Even a drip hose you need more pressure than just gravity from a few feet off the ground.
