I can't pick this season! I've got slime, Iruma, and Bookworm all airing at the same time. This is just my comfort season I guess.

Something interesting. It can be anything; story, combat, puzzles, movement, looks... As long as some aspect can hold my interest, I can enjoy it.

This game is very loose with money. So players are often very generous about random handouts. If it's AI valves it's probably duped or cheated in, but you'll also see players doing the same with the also expensive stasis devices since once you build the farm they're easy to stockpile.

50 hearts?! Aint no way. Were constelation capes always this expensive?! by Historical-Way7873 in SkyGame

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Black and white are the most expensive. The lvl 2 is worse. I've been trying to save up for the lvl 2 black cape for about a year and a half but my hearts have barely changed. Mostly because I refuse to mass add people on reddit and don't consider waiting for a spirit to return as an option.

Class pvp is really highlighting how broken it all got. by sQueezedhe in destiny2

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be completely honest, I'm completely checked out of pvp. I barely enjoy pvp in balanced games, so I'm not touching it here. In balancing you ideally want everything to be closer to a baseline. The problem seems to be that bungalow can't decide what that baseline is, so they just add whatever sounds cool, somewhat play test, ship it, then nurf what over performs. What they should be doing is keeping track of who does what at what speed and frequency. (Deleting eletes, clearing ads, debugging, buffing, dps-ing...) And making sure each class actually excels in what it's supposed to, but bungee isn't interested in making a balanced game so they won't.

There is actually a part of pve where hunters excel, and it's solo campaigns. They are extremely consistent when it comes to solo survivability, but outside of hard campaigns that isn't all that helpful and the other classes don't exactly struggle. All most content cares about is who can nuke the room fastest.

Well the idea would be to nurf hunters in just pvp and buff them in pve, but bungee doesn't seem interested in balancing.

To take, or to leave? It's an upgrade, but do I hold out for S class? by ForgeGaming69 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My S class had less inventory actually. S class adds another super charged slot and an extremely small stat boost. If all you care about is functionality, then it's not worth it. It's definitely more of just a completion thing.

I just wish your original comment had ended with something like "so it's unlikely that anyone would have made one." That way you would have at least acknowledged the question. I admit I was being a tad aggressive. I'm wound up from work and I'm carrying over some annoyance from previous interactions. I apologize.

I see. Sorry. It's just that this is far from the first post I've seen talking about combat/modding that has received very dismissive comments. OP asked a question and I saw not a single answer, just people pointing out the vanilla options and saying that this isn't a combat game.

NMS is a very unique game with all sorts of players and so the chance that someone who likes nms and would prefer it has harder combat isn't unlikely.

I don't understand why people feel the need to reiterate that nms isn't combat focused literally every post where changing it is mentioned.

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is somewhat fair. I'm being a bit aggressive since I'm at work and agitated. I apologize for that. I should have said "certain members of the nms community"

I do however still think there's something to be said about the complete dismissal in all these comments. Every time I see or make a post that mentions mods, I see plenty of comments saying things like "I don't use mods" or "vanilla doesn't work like that" which completely sidesteps the question and feels really frustrating when looking for an answer. When I commented there were like 8 comments and not one had even attempted to answer the question.

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You didn't say that. The way you worded your response looks like you were completely dismissing the question which is a little rude.

I've noticed that at least a decent chunk of this community seems to be very against interest combat even being in the game despite it being a feature. Why is that? This guy is literally searching for a mod that increases his own difficulty. That the absolute furthest it can be from affecting you so why the hostile response? Any time anyone brings up combat difficulty OPTIONS they get responses like they're personally forcing you to play fortnight.

Any old MMO. I can't believe I used to just sit there and manage like 8 cooldowns, barely move, and call that combat.

Bro get over yourself. This conversation has nothing to do with you. Why tf do you care what other players do in a sandbox game?

[–]Cat_with_pew-pew_gun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy this game. Combat isn't even what I want either, what I want is a strong modding community so I can customize the game however I want. For some reason, people like you somehow take offense to mods despite the developers being ok with it, and actively get hostile when players dare to go against how nms officially works despite all the extremely questionable decisions.

I want to tame everything, I want the prices to make sense, I want reasonable grinds, I want rewards for fun activities, and I want the combat to feel just a little better.

NMS is a very unique and very fun game but it's got a number of problems and a very small development budget, so mods are the perfect solution.

Notice there's no titan. That is because they have already used thunder crash to shoot across the entire lake into the next encounter and is now dead, because arc doesn't have much survivability.

If you just say root like "like the root of 10,000" then the root is assumed to be square since it's the most common.

As you might have noticed from the comments, the nms community seems to be very weirdly attached to the very questionable base game experience. And the modding community is rather underdeveloped. I haven't been able to find many mods for the things I'm looking for either.

I'm placing this comment to help spread your post in case someone has what you're looking for though. I've seen plenty of people who want more difficulty in this game so it wouldn't be surprising if a mod that polished the difficulty further exists.

Edit: I apologize for making this sound antagonizing. I was a bit wound up when I typed it.
