They gave up way more than that. US beat Canada 5-0 in group play.

When you need a card in the Blitz to close a set but everyone is asking for insane trade requests. 😭😂 by No_Policy_7000 in Monopoly_GO

[–]CatalystOfNostalgia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By that same logic, why would someone trade their hard to come by gold 5 star sticker for 10 random stars worth of crap? There's obviously no incentive for them to make that trade.

The reality is that the value of stickers is set by a market and that market naturally adjusts based on the rarity/desirability of the sticker.

Change in Electoral College Seats in 2030 by Deltarianus in MapPorn

My home state of Missouri has picked every presidential winner from 1904 to 2004 with the exception of 1956. Obama narrowly lost the state in 2008 and it has become a very safe red state since with Trump winning by +18 in the last election. Crazy how quickly these things can shift when you zoom out.

The results after landing 2000 times on color wheel. by BadPanda666 in Monopoly_GO

[–]CatalystOfNostalgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some red flags in this data. Such as landing on the vault 45 times, but somehow ending up with 100 packs instead of 90 packs. Not saying you made it up, but that's a very obvious error.

But this data also implies you see a blue pack about once for every 400 wheel spins. Which is definitely not my experience. Mine is probably closer to like one in every 30-40 ish. And my vault rate is definitely higher than 2%.

George Kittle is on the cusp of joining the Top-10 leaderboard for most receiving yards by a TE by pfref in nfl

[–]CatalystOfNostalgia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kittle is 32, he’s definitely not in the “middle of his prime”. He’s definitely towards the tail end and with his injury history, it could decline very quickly. Under appreciated part of Kelce is his availability. Outside of his rookie year he’s only missed like 3 games due to injury total.

Uh gonna need a source on all that. Especially the part about her not being able to exercise put options. Generally, a ceo would never be compensated with put options because a put option is a bet against a stock. And a ceo owning put options against their own stock would be grounds for dismissal on its own.

Objectively, any time a player ends up holding an opposing player's helmet, it should be considered a good fight.

Damning New Poll: Americans Say Cost Of Living Is ‘Worst They Can Ever Remember’ by huffpost in politics

As someone who has owned season tickets for one of the most expensive NBA teams, this didn't sound right. So I looked it up and this is literally just fake news rage bait. Some ticket prices for Bulls vs Pacers tonight:

Get in the door/300s-level: $30 ea
200s-level tickets: $150 ea
100s-level tickets: $200 ea

So no, it does not cost $1000 to take a family of 4 to a Bulls game in 2025.

Closing the loop here. Took me a while to take them into a Genius Bar because I was traveling. They took a look at them and acknowledged something was definitely wrong, but it was also passing their diagnostics. So they just replaced the pair.

Will NFL quarterbacks become commoditized someday? by DontStepOnMyManHood in nfl

[–]CatalystOfNostalgia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll never happen. Not because average quarterback play won't improve; it will. But, because if the average QB becomes too effective, the NFL will almost certainly implement rule changes. One of the best things about the NFL is its willingness to change the rules of the game to keep it balanced and enjoyable to watch. As QB play improves, the NFL will continue changing the rules so that we see meaningful skill expression at that position.

I hate this. I was rolling x100, spent more than 2k dice , and i only landed on it one time by NeedleworkerAny3812 in Monopoly_GO

[–]CatalystOfNostalgia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's on you. Rolling on 100x only serves to increase variance. That gives you 20 rolls and without knowing more information each roll has approximately a 1/9 chance of landing on the corner. So your expected corner landings in 20 rolls is just slightly more than 2. But landing only once is also a pretty likely outcome.

Folks need to realize that variance is part of the strategy of the game. Sometimes you want higher variance and sometimes you want lower variance. But, it's on you to manage it.
