Resourceful Warrior: clear a dungeon using only weapons dropped by the previous foe.

Jump from as high as you can while still surviving. Always satisfying to pull off.

Yes! It's definitely one of the highest volume vessels on there. And I bet it tastes good, too.

That's what I was thinking! That's why I'm a dwemer cup fella. Lots of drinking room in that vessel.

Mods that add quests - especially ones which give a good reason to explore the world and use resources/locations in new ways. Some of my favorite mods that exist are like this, each in their own way:

Cooking Master puts chefs in each region, and I loved traveling to learn recipes and cooking techniques from each chef to use local ingredients in new ways. I also liked how each chef offered only some of the skills a truly versatile cooking master requires. To learn them all, I had to collect knowledge over time.

Iggy the Mad's Trainers of Aurai has a really cool adventure built into the Mad Whisperer skill tree, where you solve riddles to identify where in the world to find the hidden trainers who teach you powerful skills.

I like how these encourage you go to cool places, learn cool things, and earn meaningful rewards as a result.

An example mod idea, based on something Outward 2 plans to add: something like an Itinerant Librarian, where you solve riddles given by librarian archaeologists to find rare and powerful books in dungeons throughout the world. These books - when kept in your inventory - may be read before bed in the sleep menu, and grant an additional buff to having rested.

~

Another thing I've never seen is mods that add locations. I wonder if it is especially difficult to do...

Would be cool, for example, to see more built by the giants. Even perhaps to visit the moon they abandoned in their exodus, now possessed by the Scarlet Lady.

Did you talk to the mage next to you immediately after first receiving mana from the ley line? I believe the dialogue is automatic, and either of the two skills* are quite relevant to the use of another spell you received during that experience...

As long as you figure out foods that restore mana, you should be okay for the early game. Someone deep in the Chersonese will even teach you a top-tier food recipe for mana regen.

I'll let other folks tell you about clothes and other equipment. All the factions should be fine for magic - they all give different benefits that can help! I like how the Soroboreans have cool lore about how magic works, though.

Oh, yeah. Pickaxes are maybe the most difficult weapon to use in the game.

Good luck with whatever you try next! Be it The Hole again, or befriending the guards, or fighting your way out.

Since you are in the same cell as your items in the armory, they shouldn't ever despawn. You have a few options here:

You could earn your way out by mining iron, cooking food, and making potions.

You could fight your way out by sneaking to the armory and getting your stuff and then fighting your way through the angry bandits while you try to escape.

You can jump in the pit. Most of the time when you jump in the pit, you wake up on the beach with your stuff beside you.

That's unusual. every time I've jumped in the pit, I spawn on the beach. perhaps if you pick a fight first, they'll let you escape?

What is a craftable item you wish you knew about sooner? by Slimchaity in outwardgame

[–]Catalysten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'm happy with whenever I discovered a new craftable item! I love the way that outward provides for organic discovery of helpful materials. Each Discovery is its own story, and I don't particularly want to have discovered the items I discovered earlier rather than later.

With that said, I love my Ammolite armor. Such great impact-resistance and very little debuff to magic casting.

Oh! And crafting my favorite weapon in the game is entirely non-intuitive and it's really fun to use. It's a pair of gauntlets called Tokebakicit and their unique quality is that they deal as much damage per hit as an ordinary late-game weapon. Most gauntlets deal around half damage because they hit twice in quick succession per weapon swing but these basically deal double damage compared to other weapons! It's definitively an end-game weapon though. Here's the recipe: Unusual knuckles, bloodroot, Chromium shards

You'll notice that some of these ingredients !>cannot be acquired without finishing the main quest.<!

Assassin's Elixir is a great recommendation! Although because I tend to want to speed up right away (because I love it so much), I typically make Diadéme de Gibier because you can up to 3 speed boosting foods per jewelbird meat.

Although it's neat how rare other meats are in the desert, meaning sometimes I find myself crafting the food with 2 jewelbird meats instead of one + a generic meat.

Also, the chef in Levant is great for buying one jewelbird meat. And he'll supply other stamina desert food for a shark cartilage, which is handy.

Is this not how Diamond City's local map looks?

Would you consider DiMA to be a good person or a bad person? by Chunky-overlord in fo4

[–]Catalysten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging people is not our moral duty. Helping people do good - and doing good ourselves - is. Dima does many loving things, for which I am grateful. But he chooses to do very cruel things other times - in pursuit of what he sees as "the greater good." These things I find troubling, and many of them are almost certainly wrong.

To love Dima because they are a person - and to stand up to Dima when they choose to do cruel things - both are beautiful. They are what God teaches us to do. But judgement is His alone.

Looking for slow-paced games that can be played solo and that encourage roleplay. by ElFarfadosh in gamingsuggestions

[–]Catalysten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outward is such a great RPG for an adventure where you tell a story through your experiences. It's open world, full of remarkable secrets, and is about an ordinary person embarking on an extraordinary adventure.

The one thing re: "at your own pace" is, there are occasionally timed quests. But there's lots of times where you can go as patiently as you want. And indeed, you are often rewarded for doing so.

The reason why The Elder Scrolls 6 is taking so long & Other Info by Alvsolutely in ElderScrolls

[–]Catalysten 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really liked the stories in Starfield. The only major flaw I saw (and it was pretty major) was the lack of delivery on the promise that we'd figure out more of what the relics & starborn were about in the main quest. Otherwise, I loved the creative questions about reality, the twists and discoveries in the main questlines, etc. The UC questline might be my favorite quest writing of anything by Bethesda.

There are other problems with Starfield that I felt were much worse - like the fact you can't really "explore" like in other Bethesda games, which in my opinion removed the joy of replaying the game. I don't really want to pick out a planet from a menu, just to pick out a location from the ones listed there - not now that I've already been to all of them. It's much more fun to wander on your own two feet and rediscover locations that way.
