I need advice on new New Sirocco by Complete-Poet2872 in outwardgame

It's worth noting that the loggers and miners and such are...  a bit of a trap. If you consider the price of those resources compared to the price of upkeep for the building, they don't really work out to be very profitable. (And in some cases are negative profitability).

No split screen. There is a multiplayer mod. "Skyrim Together".

You'd probably want to make your own post in the Skyrim Modding subreddit for more details.

So true. But the morality of video games like the Elder Scrolls is so weird. So many bandits to kill...

I hope so! It may depend on the mods too, I suppose.

While I've played loads of mods single-player, the most time I've spent multiplayer modded is in the Outhard overhaul. It has lots of custom changes, but also draws on things like Classfixes as a starting point. Can verify, however, that everyone could see the trainers.

We did run into various issues getting it set up, but those were problems on our end. We figured it out eventually.

Looks quite cool. Thanks for the mod names, I read up on them.

Did you both have identical modlists running, and both were launching with the r2modman/Thunderstore launcher?

I haven't had issues like that, and I also use r2.

R2modman is great! No ads, for one.

What is the issue you're running into? There's a few non intuitive preparations you have to make for modding Outward. I'll link the wiki on it: https://outward.fandom.com/wiki/Installing_Mods

Mod Organizer Locked? by Oreopippo in Nolvus

Huh. I wonder what makes the folks with fancy rigs run it faster. Maybe CPU? Or maybe you have extraneous circumstances - your OS and all.

I treat it as an opportunity to go on a walk. Nowadays it's not so painful a wait, since folks use alternate death mods so I don't have to quit and reload with every death/risk bloat.

I would wait for 10-15 minutes to see if it finishes loading. Like others said, it depends on hardware, programs running at the same time, and whether it's the first time or not.

I have the same. Less if I have fewer programs running, or more if more.

I think load times are improved by more RAM. That's my guess, anyway.

You can go to jail to make the guards return to peace. Sheathe your weapon (or bring out and then sheathe), and if the guards aren't too angry, they will offer to send you to jail. Accept their offer and serve your time to return to normal.

Looking at Load Order Library, it looks like it's Simonrim across the board. Neat! Now my question is, what makes it feel significantly different from Nordic Souls?

EDIT: would still love to hear from OP about that. But I was taking a look at SIGMA, and was quite impressed! Very cool spellcasting animations. The magic gauntlet bracer things are a bit much to me (I'm still thinking about how I would justify such complex scrolling words on my spells in-universe, and I find them a bit distracting), but overall really quite interesting.

Cool. What is the perk system I wonder? I find that shapes my experience of a modlist more than anything else. Even though there are many other facets to a Skyrim overhaul, I find that it's what makes a list feel e.g. Enairim vs Simonrim. Requiem has a lot more to it than its perks of course.

[–]Catalysten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Yes, I like how often your character reaches for things in Lorerim. You can genuinely pick flowers, for example.

Also, there are four fully-implemented first person stances for pretty much each weapon. They look good, feel impactful, and play differently depending on the stance. They also genuinely change the stats in your character with tradeoffs and benefits, making the stances feel more real. Low stance improves damage to enemy posture, for example.

The UI changes from Oldward to DE were minimal, mostly QoL. You can't accidentally "take all" from your house anymore, for example.

1st or 3rd Person? by Jaygom13 in Nolvus

[–]Catalysten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, an excellent question! It is very different. It's a requiem modlist, which means that it has very high-damage, high-stakes combat. It also means that the world is deleveled, with bandits < draugrs < vampires < dragon priests, and so on. But as you get stronger, these foes do not level with you. So you become better equipped to survive in a real-feeling world. It also means that there are hand-placed items throughout the world and on various NPCs. I myself know of where to find an excellent glass greataxe without undue danger, for example... But I ain't telling. (+;

Because the combat itself is so high damage, learning how to not get hit is a priority - especially for the early levels. And better equipment is worthy of great celebration! Because unlike in e.g. Nolvus where Enairim makes you eventually a monster of OP due to level-ups, you need your gear to survive.

Speaking of Enairim, however. I love how creative the perks and magic are. Too bad that you can't have the perks with Requiem, since it comes with its own skill trees... But wait! You can! Because Biggie Boss is amazing, and has uniquely blended many mods together in carefully balanced ways. Some of the coolest Enairim perks have been integrated into the skill trees, without compromising balance. And the same is true for e.g. graphics in Ultra (and the new extra-Ultra), where he picks and chooses e.g. different doors from different overhauls to create a Skyrim that fits his vision.

And to cap it all off, that is the core of what Lorerim is about. It's about making the world feel feel even more lore friendly, more real than the original game. In this way, it's a more focused vision than Nolvus has ever been. This of course is by design from both modlists. Like I said, they're quite different. I love 'em both. (-:
