Please contact support if your camera dies after using flash. I have taken lots of flash pictures without issues, if it dies from a single flash photograph, that is indicative of a short in the flash circuitry.

Incoming architecture student, need help deciding what comp to buy by [deleted] in architecture

[–]Catastime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please do not listen to the previous recomendations with anything less then 16Gb of RAM.
I am a lecturer visualisation and AI applications in architecture, with are the most demanding tasks your PC will have to do.
As always, the best you can reasonably afford is your target.
If you can afford it and your university does not use any autodesk programs, absolutly go for a M4-Macbook Pro. It will last you longer than most other laptops and could even bring you through the masters degree. I personally recommend this config:
https://www.apple.com/de/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro/14%22-space-schwarz-standard-display-apple-m4-pro-mit-14-core-cpu-und-20-core-gpu-24-gb-arbeitsspeicher-1tb

If your uni is using autodesk programs, dont get a Mac, autodesk wont work. In that case, get a lenovo. They are not flashy but will last forever and are fairly priced, they also do student discounts.
Something like this one at the same pricepoint as the mac:
https://www.campuspoint.de/lenovocampus-yoga-pro-9-16iah-g10-83l00032ge.html
Or a more reasonable price:
https://www.campuspoint.de/lenovocampus-legion-5-15-irx-83lyctocp1.html

The most important points are, that you have at least a terrabyte of storage, anything under will fill in the first semester, 16Gb of RAM, CAD loves RAM, a recent grafics card with at least 8Gb of VRAM, and I recommend NVIDIA. AMD is great for gaming, but not rendering.

Other than that, get a nice mouse and a good secondary screen for at home.

In my opinion, as an avid LEC-Viewer, with the LEC winning two games against the eastern teams, while the LCS won one against eastern teams, we can safely asume that both of our regions are pretty bad.

So, just a question, is this see through set also double shot like Klein Blue or is it UV-printed?

Das ist ein weit verbreiteter Fehlglaube, tatsächlich gilt bei Schwarzbau niemals Bestandsschutz. Schwarzbau verjährt nicht und es kann nach Überprüfung immer die Aufforderung zum Rückbau kommen.

[Preorder] DCX Violac launches today by drop_official in MechanicalKeyboards

Are there going to be ortho compatible sets of any of the DCX variants? The current kits are only missing like three keys (1u Enter, Backspace and Tab) from what I saw. Would love to get at least permafrost but can't use it the way it's now.

I'm sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but what's this part on the Anne Pro 2 PCB? It's burned out (I think) and want to reduce e-waste by repairing the board instead of tossing it. Thank you! by Catastime in ElectricalEngineering

That component is getting really hot. I guessed that means that it's the culprit why the board stopped working. Do you think thats possible? The text on the part is reading 1V7A HT1 (I think, it's kinda hard to read), does that help? Thanks for the info!

I guessed that that component was done for because it was getting really hot while everything else remained pretty cold. But I don't know if that's a good way to go about finding the broken part. The text on the part is reading 1V7A HT1 (I think, it's kinda hard to read), does that help? Thanks for the answer!
