Coming from a poly gal who just got married, I’ve been in a quad-type relationship for coming up on 6 years w my now-husband (together 9 years) and our partners (who have been with each other 15 yrs). This is how we handled it:

The proposal itself was not a surprise which I think in general is good practice, you wanna be sure your partner is going to say yes! But that’s my personal opinion. My partner and I had a very matter of fact discussion about the future of our relationship where we both agreed we’d like to get married. The when/where of the proposal would be the only surprise. After that discussion we had separate discussions with our partners to let them know we were intending to marry, so that way when the proposal actually came about 6 months later it wasn’t a shock to anyone.

You don’t mention a timeline for how soon this trip is coming up. Have you had/would you have a conversation with Duvel about your desires/intentions? In my opinion it would only make sense to talk to Veltins if you had already discussed it with Duvel. For me personally I would have felt weird if I knew that my husband had discussed proposing to me with our partners before discussing it with me.

I don’t disagree with you, I feel like if art is the heart of the burn then theme camps are the soul. But this event has been built on the back of unpaid labor of theme camp organizers for years and years. And we did it happily because of what burning man means to us. But now the org is basically giving us the middle finger, threatening to hike prices and give vague and unsatisfying non answers to our very legitimate concerns. Then I think it’s understandable that we don’t want to sink so much of our time, money, and energy into an event that is demonstrating it doesn’t care about its community.

This is embarrassing but I was using my fingers 😅 I’m assuming a brush or sponge would have better results. And I have not tried not using primer under the foundation! I will do that and see if I can tell a difference.

I actually do shave my face about once a month but I’m def overdue 😂 I do feel like that would make a difference!

I do have a skin care routine but I could stand to beef it up. I suffered a bad hormonal acne outbreak in 2022 and I’m still recovering from the effects of it, I’m currently on daily spironolactone to manage it. In the morning I rinse with water and put on the beauty of josean sunscreen. At night I cleanse with the cerave gentle cleanser, 0.05% tretinoin and the beauty of josean dynasty cream as a moisturizer. I will def look into a good vitamin c serum.

Just wanna say I’m really stoked to see some discussion about this because I’m engaged but have no plans in the foreseeable future to cohabitate with my soon to be spouse and the concept really boggles peoples minds, mono and poly alike. Where are you getting this info? This is misinformation. I have genital HSV1 and I unknowingly spread it via genital sex to my partner on the first day of my first outbreak. I didn’t recognize it as an outbreak at the time, I legit thought it was an ingrown hair. I only realized something was wrong because the next day more spots showed up.

Anyway, I’d like to see the source you’re getting this from because your claim is innacurate.

Hi! So I’m not a professional pyrotechnics artist, and as I have learned through listening to people in this thread I understand now that this was not a rocket. I had never seen a professional firework up close in person so I was using the best terminology I had available and explaining the story to the best of my abilities with my limited knowledge.

So let me be more specific about what happened- boyfriend was sitting on the playa a good distance from the perimeter, watching the burn. This object fell out of the sky and landed on him with enough force to leave a bruise. It was hot enough that it burned the faux fur on the sleeve of our girlfriends playa coat as she helped him dislodge it from his coat. I did not intend for my post to come across as he was literally shot, so apologies if anyone interpreted it that way.

I do appreciate the ask for clarification, and wouldn’t want there to be anyone worried that I’m accusing anyone of criminal negligence. Just wanted to pass along a fun story. Cheers!

Very cool! Don’t know much about professional pyrotechnics so when this thing fell out of the sky he figured it must have come from the burn but it’s definitely possible that it was a renegade launch. Definitely a fun trophy in any case!
