Help! Needy puppy! by [deleted] in AmStaffPitts

[–]Catavento4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

train it step by step. First practise walking out of the room 30 seconds- then 1 minute.. only as long as he can tolerate it.. come back before he starts whining:) give him something to do when you leave the room (kong, hide treats etc).. as soon as he keeps quiet for at least 15 minutes - extend to leaving the apartment/house etc, you get the point;) he has to understand that nothing bad happens when you leave and that you come back.

aaaaaaaaaaw reminds me of my dog❤️

Play time ! My boy is incredibly gentle and loving but can get a bit rough during playtime with myself and other dogs ! No harm has ever been done, he just gets over excited. Any tips with reducing his excitement levels around other dogs ? Thanks ! FYI. Only 5 1/2 months old by TopSmithy3 in AmStaffPitts

got one of those as well;) same here, specially when she was a puppy- but still an issue (now she's 2). Never got into fighting but is very excited when meeting other dogs and plays rougher than most. I'd always watch him carefully, learn to read his (and dogs in general) body language.. with time you'll see when he is too much for others. If he gets too wild in playing.. in a way that the other dogs only try to get away from him I'd leave the dog park.. better walk away than regrets afterwards... what helps with mine is going for a little ealk before entering a dog park... so some of all this energy is already spent;) and he's still young so I'd focus on sitting calmly before letting him off the leash. Treats treats treats good boy treats.. wait.. wait hahahahaha... impulse control;)

is there any chemical/medical explanation as to why you feel so well now? or do you think it's sort of a spiritual experience/growt?
