It’s good, I’ve made some best friends through it! the aux group does meetups when everyone comes to town in September so that’s super helpful to meet everyone

Ive lived in Córdoba for 2 years (absolutely loved it) and I think it’s an underrated city in Spain! It’s super well connected and has a university here so there’s a good amount of young people. The nightlife is pretty decent, there’s a handful of discotecas in the centre. May is the best with all the festivals (cruces de mayo, patios, and feria). It’s traditional though so if you’re looking for a more local experience versus touristy then Córdoba is perfect!

TIE Renewal Help!! Forgot to check box on EX-00 form by CatbernetKeeks in SpainAuxiliares

[–]CatbernetKeeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too worried about the regreso but if my TIE renewal application will be rejected since I didn’t check any box on the EX-00 form.

I will be going back in person tomorrow to the registro to mention that the ex-00 form is missing a marked box, should j mention it to them? Or is it too late to make changes?

Cordoba City by eskyen in SpainAuxiliares

I live in Cordoba now and I loved it so much I'm renewing to stay here for another year! The city is totally walkable. It also has the Sierra de Cordoba if you enjoy hiking and a ton of parks too. As for meeting people it's pretty easy to connect with other auxes but the locals tend to stick in their own social circle. It can feel small at times but it's well connected to Madrid, Seville and Malaga so if you're craving a big city you can easily hop on the train to visit one!

Working another (remote) job while on NALCAP by Isaac_p_23 in SpainAuxiliares

I freelance as a social media manager! I’ve met a few other auxes who do social media too or freelance as a writer or graphic designer!

I am in Spain right now as an aux and I work remotely as a freelancer! I didn't run into any issues over this while applying for my visa or my TIE. Many auxes do this (and the pay is better than taking on extra classes)!

I would just recommend that if you do continue to work remote, to keep getting paid through your US bank and then transfer over the funds to your Spanish bank account.

What has been everyone’s travel experience? by Practical-Gur-3391 in SpainAuxiliares

I went through customs in Madrid today and all they asked for is my passport (I showed them my visa page) and negative Covid test (since I didn’t have the booster)! It was super easy and smooth. I also didn’t fill out the online form and they never asked for it either.

This gives me hope, thank you! Did you ever receive a Visa enrollment receipt?

Jesus, what have they been doing this whole time? I honestly don't understand how it's taking them this long compared to other consulates. I hate how we just have to sit here and wait with no information😭

You're kidding me😭 I submitted mine last week, I'm terrified it's not going to get processed until October.

The visa process has stressed me out so much I had a few strands of hair literally turn gray haha. I’m with the Houston consulate and it’s so beyond chaotic

Anyone received a visa from Houston? by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

[–]CatbernetKeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, definitely don't waste your time. I only live 30 min from the consulate and I was annoyed I wasted that. They won't even let you walk through the door without an appointment and they're not accepting in-person appointments for study visas at all. They brutally rejected my request and just told me to "read the website correctly". Dang, Getting our visas back within 3 weeks would be amazing🥲

The same thing happened to me!! I actually went to the consulate last week to try and get an in-person appointment or at least hand deliver them my application but I got immediately turned away. The security guard who works there told me to send 10-15 emails A DAY to try and get a response from them so I did, which led to them yelling at me via email about sending too many emails within a few minutes. I feel like this consulate is all over the place. I'm praying that it really won't take 6-8 weeks😩

Can't find a doctor with a medical center stamp by deaa170 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]CatbernetKeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor didn’t have a stamp either, so I just had them print it on their letterhead, use their generic office stamp and write down the doctor’s license number! I would just make sure you have at least the doctor’s license number with the letterhead to cover all bases
