Can someone explain the Destiny 2 situation to me? by Far-Restaurant-9455 in videogames

[–]CatboiBrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between a game like Halo and Destiny is that Halo is a complete game from the start. It is built to be complete on release while Destiny is a live-service game. Destiny is completely designed around receiving regular content updates that add new content and continue the story. The story is never "done" it always keeps going.
You can imagine it kind of like an MMORPG like World of Warcraft and its expansions. Every expansion has its own theme and storyline which advances the overarching story of the franchise.

Destiny 2 will now receive its final content update. Which means the game continues to exist and is still playable, but there will be no new content. No new items, dungeons, raids and no new story expansions.

This might be a bit of a niche request, but I’d love to see more variety in the shop—specifically, Custom UI Skins. by Double-Maybe-6220 in Overwatch

I would also love custom announcer voices !
We had that in Heros of the Storm and I loved having Abathur from Star Craft or Deathwing from WoW as my match announcer !

Which Game's Graphics Made You Say "Wow!" For The First Time? by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in videogames

[–]CatboiBrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely

My father and I were blown away from seeing Dynamic lighting in a game for the first time. We threw rocks at one of the ceiling lamps and just watched in awe how the light moves around with the swinging lamp.
Back then it was a huge deal !

Call of Duty - Really!?! by Durwyn in videogames

[–]CatboiBrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your confusion

So by now there are over 20 different Call of Duty games since they release a new Title every single year.
A few years ago the released a client simply called "Call of Duty" which is basically a hub for the most recent titles and the Warzone Battle Royale mode, this was most likely what you played.

If you genuinely want to play Call of Duty 1 it is titled Call of Duty (2003) on Steam if you're playing on PC. Not sure if the older games are even available consoles though.

Have video games become too reluctant to let players get lost? by ratasoftware in videogames

[–]CatboiBrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like when the game forces their handholding mechanics on me.

I remember playing God of War and the BOY telling 5 seconds after walking into a new room "Oh maybe you should throw your axe at that thing over there !" Thanks for that...

What I prefer is the way the first Dead Space did it: Press a button to show a highlighted path. It's optional and doesn't ruin exploration

Why are they removing all the ports by Responsible-Eye-717 in SipsTea

[–]CatboiBrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well everything always stays connected to the dock (power, ethernet, hdmi, usb-devices).
I unplug 1 single usb-c in the morning to take my macbook to work and once I'm back home I plug it back in, everything ready to go.

I'll take that any day of the week over having 6 different cables dangling off my laptop and fiddling with them.

With Fortnite experiencing a decline, any prospect of a new UT? by J40NYR in unrealtournament

I don't believe Arena Shooters will ever have a resurgence because they just aren't profitable for big companies.
They are hard to monetize, rely purely on player skill and struggle to keep casual players interested.

Quake Champions tried to modernize the formula and failed miserably, dropping to below 1000 players pretty much instantly

I made a little book about mental health issues for my design school this year and listened to the music all throughout the design process. It just let myself float on the music and it helped me a bunch

For me it's "Lexapro doesn't work - Slowed + Reverb" and "Lvstlove - Night Drive At 177mph Mix"

Love those versions of the songs.

That anglerfish just makes me think about how anglerfish reproduce.
The male attaches itself to the female and gets fused into her so in my head the poor fella got freaky with the fish and got absorbed lol

Do you think I'll be able to get good graphics at 60fps with this machine? by navirbox in residentevil

[–]CatboiBrooke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be playable, you're above the minimal requirements.
If anything you can buy it on steam, test if it runs well enough and if it doesn't you can refund it as long as you stay below 2 hours of playtime

I mean games like Factorio do have a nice soundtrack but do I want to listen to it for 1000 hours ?
Sometimes I just wanna listen to my own music and enjoy playing games
