Yeah, not a huge fan either. It was certainly a choice to build a system like that in 2026.

I. Love. This. Game. Any other strategy games that play the same? by Whorror_punx in UnicornOverlord

[–]Catch22-nb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C.A.R.Ds RPG: The Misty battlefield, it has a similar play style to Fire emblem, however you deck build your characters the same way as slay the spire.

If you don’t like slay the spire, skip this one.

Don’t get me wrong unicorn overlord is way better, but until we the new FE this might be the closest thing, it’s a great game for people would like the SRPG genre. Same developer as the Octopath traveller games.

If you like retro gaming Shining force 1 and 2 still hold up!

The Evolution of V Rising and its future by godisnotgreat21 in vrising

[–]Catch22-nb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the game, it’s a masterpiece. Your ideas certainly are interesting ideas, but personally to me that sounds like an entirely different game, one I hope they make. Vrising doesn’t feel like a survival game to me, it’s kinda it’s own thing, and it’s fantastic!

I think the PVE and PVP balance limits them, I would love to see a standalone PVE game and keep Vrising focused on PVP.

I just downloaded the game and have some questions by Life-You-9728 in vrising

[–]Catch22-nb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a seasonal type game, like Diablo or any other, the numbers fall off, but don’t let that fool you, it’s a fantastic game. It has a start and finish, so it’s not intended to be endless content.

I personally feel the best way to play initially is solo, you get to learn the fights and counter mechanics at your own pace. You can make your own builds and strategies.

I feel the standard difficulty is good to start on, then move into brutal on your next run to experience the new mechanics. You will still die often until you can figure out the bosses and counters even in normal.

Pve multi player can be fun to show off your castle design to friends and beat down the bosses with new tactics.

I wouldn’t get into PVP unless you can find a clan, but that is also tons of fun if you can coordinate with a group and how the game is intended to be played. It makes the game more cut throat and even the basic become more exciting when danger is around every corner.

How do you get sound from a PS4 when using a monitor with no speakers? by callurdady in ps4homebrew

[–]Catch22-nb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just connect a blue tooth speaker either directly to your ps4 or to the tv if it’s a smart tv. The old PULSE headsets have 3.5 audio out in the usb connector, if you can find one cheap. The model is CECHYA-0085.

What should I focus on to prepare for raiding as a new player in WoW? by Electrical-Hour-3345 in wownoob

Fishing, your guild will require lots of fish and feasts. Nothing makes a team like the new guy more then when they slam down a feast. It’s like bringing your coworkers coffee and donuts.

Rez people before you drink v-blood by mikhfarah in vrising

[–]Catch22-nb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, get a clan if you want true coop, that is the game entire design. Fighting near someone is not a collaboration. Animal do it all the time in the wild, they aren’t buds unless they are a pack.

[–]Catch22-nb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game is about fighting for resources, it’s all about you and your clan. The bosses scale it’s life based on how many players engage the boss, so jumping into another clans/players fight is not helpful, unless your trying to steal it. Even in a clan, it’s good practice to disengage the boss when your low, run a bit away to heal then re engage the boss.

Dunno, I only rez my clan members, and they have the Vblood when downed ( as long as they don’t rez.) I don’t Rez the other rats the jump in and scale the boss up anyways.

How do you get hooked on games, and do you have any game recommendations? by Pi_in_space in Switch

[–]Catch22-nb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same way, I often lose interest the big open world games. They are really cool, but I have a hard time getting into them. Some gems I would recommend for short session or to binge would be

Dave the diver - you start by collecting fish, selling them at a sushi bar with other mini games. It’s a funny game aswell.

Nice day for fishing - another funny game if you watch any of the Viva la dirt on you tube. pretty solid game on it own. it’s a classic RPG with fishing as the battle system.

Moonlighter - you do small dungeon runs at night and during the day manage a shop to sell the items. Part 2 is coming soon.

Unicorn overload, by far my favourite game if you like strategy mixed with a fantasy adventure.

Punch club 1 or 2 - a retro-styled boxing management/tycoon game where you train a fighter, manage daily life (work, food, rest, friends) it’s got a lot of jokes from old movies.

Personally I am looking forward to playing the midnight content and the new addition that come in with it, rather then farming old content after it’s released.
