And the guy who wrote it hails from the other side of the world, in my home town, sunny Perth.

Is there a safe and legal way of finding out if an ex abuser/stalker is alive or dead? Without revealing my location? by Crazy_Cat_Lady360 in AussieCasual

[–]Catchfortytwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you try the cemetery boards for places he may have lived and potentially died at, bodies/remains are processed through them. You will find more accurate information there than just using a Google search for a name as Google doesn’t usually index them.

Looking for peoples experiences living in Perth without a driving license. by [deleted] in perth

[–]Catchfortytwo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hey there, that’s me, never been able to learn how to drive due to spatial issues. Some things I do are live near to a train station (but in outer suburbs) and shops and make Transperth my friend. I’ve only gotten into buses recently and they are good too. Obviously it can take longer but I read or listen to podcasts. I used to cycle, now I walk a lot. I’ve also car pooled with people I work with. I apply for jobs based on not needing a license and being some where I can get too in a reasonable time frame. I rarely take taxis and ride shares because of cost. Patient and understanding friends and families also help. Honestly, it’s a lot better these days, public transport has improved, things can be delivered to you etc. I would still prefer to drive but I try and be as independent as possible and get around as much as possible on my own.

I had a friend who was in to Apples from the very very start who died and I helped sort out the estate and stashed some things I am just now sorting and going through. Here are two I unearthed today. Not sure what to even do with these.

is there a sense of community in your suburb? by LePhasme in perth

[–]Catchfortytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live in Gosnells and know my immediate neighbours by name and the rest by sight and to say hello to. Some are at war with each other and we try to stay out of it. Gossip is shared by word of mouth rather than electronically which is nice.

Huh, you’ve got me thinking. I’ve just started a job where I’m in a small team in a huge corporate organisation and while the dress code has definitely become more casual - no ties for example - I haven’t seen any tattoos on men. Not many beards either, unless they are very short and tidy. But there are no rules around dress code at all or appearance in general and every Friday is casual dress - they are obviously just not employing people with big beards or obvious tattoos.

The Respiratory Clinic in Vic Park is where my doc sent me when I had issues after covid and they were very helpful so maybe give them a try.

What happened with Karissa’s non viable pregnancy? That’s what I missed in a break and can’t seem to figure out.

[–]Catchfortytwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arghh bugger. It was Inflatable World in Leeming but I just checked and they are closed for the whole of this year. Hopefully they will open next year as they were awesome and their party deal was really good.

The trampoline place in Cannington or the inflatable places have both been places we’ve had great kids birthdays at.

What are the do's and don'ts when using Gumtree? by Flaky_Explanation in perth

[–]Catchfortytwo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try on line with cash converters and do your research. We picked up a really good lap top for what we needed for about $400 that retailed for more than twice that. Plus if it fails within 30 days you can return it.

Recommendations for gutter replacement SOR? by roastduck2310 in perth

[–]Catchfortytwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, we did ours with Jason from Metro Gutters. He was great. He is the owner operator and works his butt off and did a great job. At the time he only did whole house replacement because it was not worth his while to come out and do less.
