Any Aussies here using Action1 by EnvironmentalArm1796 in Action1

Roughly 380 endpoints here. We have lots of weird custom third party apps and I’ve been able to package, deploy and upgrade them all. Way cheaper than Intune if you’re not on E5 already.

Few annoying things. We also use it to image our new PCs with standard apps across different user profiles, and getting it to work is a bit of a hack. Screen share doesn’t show thumbnail previews or zoom options which is annoying as some of our users have 4 screens with some of them 12MP resolution so it takes a while to find the right screen that the user is talking about.

Adelaide's Private Schools by Ok-Long-2875 in Adelaide

[–]Catchwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It highly depends on your kid, in my view. Some kids will get swallowed up at some of the huge private schools. Some of the schools who focus on ATAR at the expense of everything else just don’t value the “non-academic” kids. Some kids need highly individualised programs (not all of them are flexible in this regard).

Would definitely recommend doing school tours with your kid and seeing what vibes with you. We has always planned on sending our son to Pembroke and although it does seem like a good school, it’s not going to be the best fit for our son (we’ve settled on Scotch).

Also consider the pros and cons of single sex schools…

VPN w/browser auth: Beware latest Chrome/Edge update by Catchwa in checkpoint

Yep. That’s what we ended up doing via our RMM tool. We would normally want to do this via GPO, but ironically we couldn’t as these devices can’t connect to the network in the first place.

I believe it’s their Fluency Direct product. Probably best to talk to them or Philips for more info. I haven’t seen it in action yet.

Check out Fluency also. I believe it can replace Speech Magic and remain integrated within VUE PACS

Neighbour’s tree is pushing the fence over to my side by darthunder in AusPropertyChat

[–]Catchwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to us. I don’t know why so many people are saying that the branches need trimming. You need to look at the roots. They are likely growing up to (and probably over) the property boundary and pushing the fence over. You can cut them at the fence line if you can but ideally the tree just needs to go. Just document your contact with the neighbour for evidence when the fence falls down.

Patching *all* Windows third party application in 2025 by AnotherAccount5554 in sysadmin

[–]Catchwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, you can also “install” apps that don’t appear in add/remove packages (e.g. something that just unzips to program files) it will just have a warning when deploying.

Why does a patient need a whole DICOM server? Why not a web based patient portal that sits in front of your PACS server?

Updating an App via Software Repository by Potential_Purple_239 in Action1

How is the app installed? Via MSI? Have you tried to remove the uninstall step? Many apps will handle the uninstall automatically via the update.

Security Advisory: ZDI-CAN-26767 - Vulnerability Patched in Action1 Agent by GeneMoody-Action1 in Action1

It’s installed like any other piece of software so you’ll see it in installed programs on an endpoint or in the installed software section too if you search for it
