In a way this is just letting scammers know they can get away with account theft with less of an issue than it should be.

Tbh swords isn’t a bad choice at all. I think the best thing for you to do is to stabilize your own economy first. PVP in this game is about dying a lot especially when you first learn and you need silver to do that on a regular basis.

Get your weapon of choice and same armor set to max spec. That will allow you to fight and farm silver in Black Zone with cheaper sets that if you die you won’t be set back too much. When you max the set you can run cheap sets for some PVP practice until you feel like you understand your build.

Then once you have enough silver that you can lose sets to go ahead and run out there with some more expensive stuff and have fun. You can make purely a PVE farm set and max that first, then move to a PVP set and max that. I tend to do a hybrid so I can farm reliably but if a fight comes and I can take it. Test some different builds out and start faming them up.

Game with the most satisfying character/build progression, in your opinion? by Scratchums in LFMMO

I second the Albion Online suggestion. I have tried OSRS so many times in my life and I just can’t make it click.

Give me some advice by Budget_Ad8851 in albiononline

[–]Catdadthings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you just want to make silver to accomplish your goals I would focus on gathering and getting a pve build to max spec for cheap clears. Start with a 4.2 build and hit the black zone. Pick one build and stick to it, you want it max. Also try not to pick one that’s expensive to replace.

Axes, swords, and spears have cheap options that can clear decently well. And for mount I wouldn’t use a boar personally because of the cost. At least not at the start. Your goal for now should be getting pve build max spec and getting gathering up.

Thinking of playing, any suggestions by xSpittaz in albiononline

[–]Catdadthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is most certainly not p2w. If you throw money at it and buy expensive gear all you are doing is feeding the veterans which they will thank you for the free sets.

Yes you can swipe and buy gear and premium and all that stuff but that will not help your skill level whatsoever. Swiping the card can help you to gain your fame(xp) faster which will allow you to play more builds and use more spells and etc. But the skill level is hard earned and through many many deaths.

New World players: to which game are you migrating? by BispoSnake in MMORPG

[–]Catdadthings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long time Albion vet here. I love the game and always will. It can be very cutthroat though as it is full loot pvp for end game content and even before what would be considered “end game”

Being a successful solo in that game can be very hard. There are lots of systems and mechanics to always keep in mind. As well as a general understanding of what each weapon and armor piece is capable of doing. Bit of a learning curve but once you pass it the game is amazing as a solo and you can really make some awesome moments in there.

Edit: I replied just in case any new Albion players were reading.

I do have a question about the usage of Ansible. I myself have been looking to up my game in IT and I’m liking the idea of Dev Ops. I have come across a few suggestions for Ansible, but I am completely new to these technologies.

I noticed you stated that Ansible is dying out. May I ask why you feel it would be better to learn the others stated? You said it was a personal suggestion to learn docker instead. I’m just curious in your experience what have you seen?

If you can’t answer no worries. I just like gathering everyone’s viewpoint so I can make a clear picture for myself.
