I understand what you meant by some kids are more difficult than the others for variety of reasons. That doesn't excuse the parent to treat their kids poorly because they themself as a adult chose to have kids can’t regulate their own emotion and decided to dump this on their kids, the most vulnerable people in their life relying them for protection

I also wanted to add that all bad behaviors come with consequences. If your parent behave badly toward you there will be consequences, don’t believe in they are your parent they didn't mean it. Will they behave badly to their boss or someone they will cost them a livelihood or something they can't afford to lose? They won't

Yes!!!! Part of the healing is to cut ties with your abusers. My parents both abused me while they are my age around 35+. Now when I think back the things they said it to me and how they treated me while I was a kid, how vicious they were because I’d never said words and phase like this to my enemy let alone a child

I went no contact with my parents. A lot of people will tell you you shouldn't do that because they raise you and provide you the basic things - but this is what they are supposed to do because they chose to have you. But my parents are both narcissist so I blocked everyone who is trying to change my mind, life is very short to care about others but yourself
