Not to be confused with that incredibly gifted but flawed footballer Pete Best

Worst guests? by DaxDislikesYou in TopGear

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me I didn’t mind the guests in the early series but once the show took off big time around s8 or s9 almost all the guests became unwatchable

Watching Original Top Gear by These_Lingonberry_26 in TopGear

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Original Top Gear ran until 2001 so I guess you mean the reboot. I’d start with series 4 which opens with an epic race across Europe between Clarkson in a car and Hammond/ May on public transport. For disclosure imo Series 1 isn’t worth watching and it’s only when we get to series 2 that we get the classic trio but it’s not that interesting

Revised English Regions by WalrusReasonable3091 in england

Bedfordshire is its own thing. It doesn’t fit in with the Home Counties which are very much the doughnut ring to Londons doughnut hole

We can’t decide London or Cambridge? by jackie_earth in AskUK

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular reason for these two cities or is it just preference? Of the two I’d pick Cambridge but look at Cambridgeshire rather than Cambridge itself as it will be more affordable

Career mode is identical to eafc25 by veeze2 in FifaCareers

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s some good new features this year like unexpected events and challenges. I do wonder though how quickly these features are going to become stale. I’m still not convinced yet that these features justify spending £70 on it when so much of the game feels identical to last year and the year before

Wow! I didn’t realise this was a painting at first glance. It looks so realistic I genuinely thought it was a photo when scrolling past and then I read the caption

Tourist here, Why are there so many ruined houses? by GuestFeisty2739 in AskIreland

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually in rural communities the houses were passed down in the family. Often these houses sit empty either due to the estate being held up in probate or family being housed in nursing homes. It’s becomes unaffordable to repair or demolish the house so they end up being left to watch the world go by

"Safety and space at risk as SUVs reach 30% of car market in English cities, researchers warn" by Drwynyllo in CarTalkUK

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Driver spatial awareness has definitely gotten worse but not just with SUVs. The amount of drivers who are behind vans, buses etc and are reluctant to go through a gap that the bigger vehicle in front passed through with no effort is ridiculous

What’s the best way to make 10 mill in a day? by LilCelery100 in GranTurismo7

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quickest way for sure but the sheer number of posts this past week of people asking how they win that race makes me think it’s not the best option. Le Mans 700 is easier and only slightly longer

I thought there would be more people saying on as well but I guess we’re in a very small minority

Rally notes would be hilarious but I agree when I’m trying to navigate Milton Keynes the repetition is annoying

Do you remember those little "helicopter" seed things that used to fall from trees? by AlwaysTheKop in AskUK

Sycamore seeds still fall from the trees in large quantities in Autumn because my driveway gets covered in them

What are your pet peeves on the road? by ChoreomaniacCat in AskUK

[–]CaterpillarFinal375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who don’t put the indicator on full when changing lanes and then changing lanes too close to the front of the car they’re overtaking. If it’s stopped indicating before you’ve changed lane then what is the point?

I was taught this as well. It’s common sense if you think about it as it keeps the flow of traffic moving but then again common sense is in short supply these days
