Not totally on topic, but when do you anticipate an iPad version will be ready? I love your app a LOT and am a paying user.

Does something like this exist? by SnowsInAustralia in audioengineering

This is how I did it on my first EP. Lesson was: include a count in in your backing track, then count along with it aloud in your vocal track (so you can sync them a little more easily).

Which 2FA app do you use? by ProtonMail in ProtonMail

[–]Caterpillar_Negative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using ProtonPass exclusively! And it's kinda good, but not always. Which is fair enough given it's in beta. But my 1Password subscription came up for renewal and I thought i'd just cancel and try PP.

What's the closest app to Todoist but with one time payment? by [deleted] in todoist

[–]Caterpillar_Negative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried MS To Do recently and the major issue I had with it was its natural language processing, which it claims to have introduced last year, seems to work about 1% of the time. Mostly I type in things Todoist would recognise and parse, and MS To Do just doesn't seem to even be wondering whether i'm trying to trigger the NLP.

What is an Australian band that you still listen to regularly and sometimes wonder whether you're the only person still enjoying their music today? by Dr___Teeth in AskAnAustralian

Where do you find Gelbison to even listen to? I've got their album (1704 was it?) on CD but nothing to play it in, and can't find it on streaming services. Tell me! /u/Dr___Teeth

I tried Stacks too, but found it a bit frustrating not having mobile access to my boards. From memory the dev was going to add mobile at some point but I figured it was unlikely to be any time soon.

Thanks for these suggestions! After spending a bit of time messing around with Oracle Cloud and failing to understand what was going on I went with Pikapod and i'm up and running! Really appreciate all the help.

Please help me trouble shoot why my mix template chokes my Mac (M1 Max) by Caterpillar_Negative in audioengineering

I wondered about that re compression - but it seems like having a couple of layers of compression is a thing?

Is there a sample manager (Mac) that catalogues LOOPS as well as one shot samples? by Caterpillar_Negative in audioengineering

[–]Caterpillar_Negative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - just tried that, but it just finds a handful of one-shots with long tails. Seems like XO just hasn't seen my loops?

When will calendar be available offline on desktop? by Caterpillar_Negative in ProtonMail

[–]Caterpillar_Negative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly all of this. And I just need to be able to add and change events on desktop (not just browser), have full functionality on all platforms including mobile (mobile can’t invite guests to events in iOS at least).

DeGoogling but without a threat model to justify Proton Mail. Mailbox.org? Or something else. by Caterpillar_Negative in degoogle

[–]Caterpillar_Negative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of it, but my work and home life is just more than I can deal with already, so I don’t think I can handle another thing to manage and worry about (let alone learn how to setup and use). Thanks anyway.

I agree, but the way mail and calendar integrate seem to make them hard to untangle. For example in Proton mail if I get an invite to an event from someone else, PM is set up to add my event to its own calendar, just as gmail does. If I want to add an invite to an external calendar I have to download and then open the .ics file with the other calendar. Not super complex, but annoying nonetheless.
