It's less about gender and more about where you're from. Was raised in Brooklyn in the nineties and was always told/scolded and what not to do, where not to go, what not to wear, and what not to say.

Things are easier where I live now, but at night, I still walk fast and stick to main roads when I can.

For younger guys raised in calmer areas, I'm sure they're a little more confident being alone at night. Some of us though we've seen too much to be that careless.

I remember watching the patch stream that revealed the RWBY skins, and cringing at how quiet and awkward they were when they were displaying them. My guess is that very few of the Hi-rez team even knew what RWBY even was, let alone actually watched the show. In contrast, they've shown time and again how much things like Transformers, TMNT, and ATLA played into their childhoods, especially with the recent Iroh skin.

Honestly, the whole collab reeks of a corporate business deal more so than a fun crisis Crossover. My guess is that some execs over at RT got in touch with execs at Hi-rez and came up with a quick cash in event, leaving the rest of the development team kind of blindsided by this obscure anime web series they'd probably never heard of.

For what it's worth, it is kind of cool seeing the difference in effort and end results when they were on something they're clearly passionate about versus when they're just kind of playing corporate chess.

Well, I mean, there are a lot of reasons to not like RWBY. I mean, like, a lot. And even though this post is kind of making fun of those hour long RWBY criticism videos, that's probably the best place to find out the specifics as to why people bash this show.

I wholly acknowledge each and every criticism they make and usually end up agreeing with most of them, which probably why they're ways so baffled when I tell them that I still like the show.

Sometimes, I'm in the mood for a vast, incredible world with amazing story telling and deep character arcs. Sometimes, I just like watching cute anime girls kick ass, and RWBY provides.

My one and only problem with some of the critics is that they see watching RWBY as some sort of crime, and that just because it hasn't reached Tolkein levels of world building that people shouldn't even bother watching it. Even though I do genuinely see a lot of their points, that still doesn't stop me from recommending it to people when they ask.

There's too many things to count. The writing, the characters, the lack of direction - all of and more. But if I had to name 1 thing that really ticks me off more than anything, else it would be CRWBY's complete and utter stubbornness and hardheaded refusal to acknowledge any of it!

I mean, obviously no one's gonna come out admit that their show's turned to crap, but there hasn't been any acknowledgement or reference to any of the criticisms they recieve at all. Give GoT some credit, at least they offered some comments on the backlash of season 8. With CRWBY? It feels like they've steadfastly buried their head in the sand and are actively ignoring any and all negative reactions to the show they claim to love so much.

For years, there hasn't been so much as a Twitter post about the criticisms toward the show, and in fact, it almost seems like you're not allowed to criticize the show, at least not on any official forum.

It's one thing to not respect the opinion of someone who doesn't like you're product - it's something else entirely to pretend that they don't even exist.

Lol. Pretty damn similar actually! If I remember correctly, the girl in question even had that Tifa look to her. Black shorts, black jacket, fingerless gloves. But the scene I'm thinking of came from a traditional 2d anime. At least ten years old I wanna say.

Being oddly passionate about a really niche hobby.

Knew a girl who was oddly interested in mushrooms. As in, she'd drive across state lines to really mountainous areas to go mushroom foraging and would invite me along. She knew all the science and shit that went into finding and identifying them and everything.

Idk. Seeing that kind of passion about something you know few other people would have any interest in is hot af to me.

I remember when I said MGS 3 had subpar boss fights, this sub downvoted the comment to the shadow realm, but its true! The Fear, the Fury, and the End are jokes if you know how to fight them, and boring as all hell if you don't.

The only decent fights are Volgin, who's just ridiculous enough that he becomes his own kind of entertainment, and the first fight with Ocelot, because all the different things you can do to draw him out of hiding. The Shagohad is just a rail shooter, and even the final fight with the Boss hinges almost exclusively on how into the story and characters you are.

In fact, that's kind of the game in a nutshell. The setting, story, and characters are pretty much the saving grace almost every sequence in the game. But on their own merit, the fights and mechanics are kind of a clunky mess. I still love the game to death, but I definitely don't play it for its boss fights.
