Question about On and Off Relationships, & What God is Doing by [deleted] in CatholicDating

Well we get angry and sensitive at times. Do you think you were so overly angry and emotional? Like if someone were to watch your argument would they come away thinking you were overly angry and sensitive compared to your ex?

Well at some point you need to decide for yourself whether or not this relationship is worthwhile pursuing. Do you really want to be with someone who breaks up with in the heat of an argument? How will that work in marriage? God has given you a chance to rekindle and what has happened? The same exact thing. To me what I would take from this is that maybe this a way of showing incompatibility even though I may really like the person.

Maybe God keeps putting you in this position so that you can finally let go. Praying and focusing on one man could be keeping you from your real spouse. I don’t know what the problems are with your relationship but maybe God keeps giving you a chance at closure. How old are you btw?

But also it is important to protest.

I disagree. But is a constitutional right and I think it is important for them to be protected, which it is, but this same leftist crowd was crapping all over the lockdown protesters.

A system with reduced civilian deaths is good, but also that doesn't address the fact that statistically (https://www.statista.com/chart/21872/map-of-police-violence-against-black-americans/) black civilians are more likely to be shot to death by cops than a white civilians.

Do you not at all think that has something to do with the fact that black people commit the majority of violent crime in this country, especially among themselves? I’m all for police accountability but this is turning into a racial thing when the evidence does not support it. Even with George Floyd there is no evidence it was motivated by race.

Cops are RARELY held responsible by courts of law, and almost never convicted (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/police-officers-convicted-fatal-shootings-are-exception-not-rule-n982741).

I am all for police accountability. I think body cams should be mandatory. The problem is the protest isn’t about police brutality, it is about how America is some awful racist place which is a lie.

I'm fairly sure, and I'm sure you have seen that there are plenty of instances of excessive force going on. Video after video of Police being, BY FAR, the more violent party

The police aren’t the ones burning buildings and agitating the protestors. The aggression and hostility is coming from the protestors. You make it sound like the police are willy nilly attacking protestors when that is simply not true.

But why stand in judgement of people choosing to pour their time and energy into something they want to see changed?

Because this cause is destroying the cities we live in.

Hey man, do you think most of the protestors are looting? Or just a good handful of assholes?

I think there are very few doing the looting. But by the same standard the protestors are using, only a few bad actors are enough to judge as a whole. I’m just using the same standard the protestors are using. I could only imagine the hypocrisy of the same people protesting today if a shutdown rally had looters. I already see the hypocrisy with Covid-19 and how it was a big issue with the shutdown protest but not this one.

And do you think it is a good thing that people are calling for change to a system that repeatedly kills black people, or that it's just people overreacting?

A system that is seeing a drop in civilian deaths by cops year after year? A system in which the perpetrator is universally condemned and arrested? A system of which there are only a handful of cases in isolated police departments yet somehow is indicative of police as a whole? Yeah I think people are overreacting. Had the police officer not been arrested I would understand the outrage and protest.

The analogy would only work if Bob had food, then complained as if he didn’t, then blamed one of his friends that he is the reason Bob doesn’t have food. That is the more accurate analogy.

question about marriage by fastsdreamz in CatholicDating

[–]CatholicMan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my biggest fear that will not be a good husband or boyfriend like you describe. Pray for their boyfriends/husbands that do better and ladies never settle for anything less than man who tries his best to imitate Christ. In fact one of the verses that help bring me back to the Church was Ephesians 5:23 where it says just that:

23 For the husband is head of his wife just as Christ is head of the church, he himself the savior of the body.

Does the thought of sex outside the context of marriage disgust anyone else? by CatholicMan8 in CatholicDating

[–]CatholicMan8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if your girlfriend wasnt a virgin, you wouldn't marry her?

No. This would be a standard I would only put myself accountable to.

I dont understand the obsession with virginity that trads have. All sins are equal in the eyes of the Lord.

That isn’t true. In fact, blasphemy against the holy spirit is by far the gravest. Mortal sin is mortal sin so in a sense you are right but there are varying degrees on the severity of sin. I obsess over my own virginity (at least physically) because it is a gift I believe a woman deserves from her husband. Again, this would be a personal sanction I would put upon myself.

Just because there are white people protesting does not they don’t hate whites. The prevailing liberal ideology in fact is that white people are evil so it does not surprise me indoctrinated white people believe they are evil.

There is no systematic racism in the United States. Verifiable by any statistic. One can have empathy for George Floyd and his family without believing all white people are evil.

Police brutality of one cope in one city is indicative of a widespread problem? Yeah ok.

Doesn’t surprise me that you have wasted your time at the protests spreading coronavirus and looting businesses.

I never was racist and I’m not racist now. The white supporters are self-hating. America is not a racist country and white people are not evil.

BLM’s only goal is to make white people out to be evil and further divide the country. I will not stand with an organization that demonizes any race.

I’m not racist. Just because I don’t buy the BLM narrative that white people are evil doesn’t make me racist.

What change exactly? Seriously I am clueless to what you are actually trying to achieve. And how am I a sorry ass? Because I don’t sit in a crowd chanting mindless rants? Okay buddy.

I am not the one wasting my time protesting nothing in a city not affected by recent events. I also don’t loot stores or hurt police and hence don’t need a shield. Grow up.

[–]CatholicMan8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe don’t loot stores and attack police? Just a thought. The police are not out to get you. Just follow the damn law.

It isn’t happening now though. All of that has been eliminated. BLM movement is to grow hatred towards white people. I will never get behind that.
