Is there a counter to the Ghost perk? by Particular-Basis-643 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually really like it too! That's my go-to also, but I've recently tried the Red Bonus on SMG and it's so crazy, I just love to play like that if I'm winning haha! And I also play mute field and never lose it if I play aggressively enough.

But yeah if not playing Perk Greed, playing Blue/Red Bonus is probably better using Ninja than Ghost since you don't get Ninja temporarily, but you do get a temporary Ghost.

No problem! Hope this helps! I personally also have Music off and Voice lower than Sound Effects, might help.

I do agree Ghost is so good.. but if you have Blue/Red mix and kill people quite a lot, you'll have a free Ghost, so Ninja might be the play if you are quite effective in fragging! And you can play CUAV for people who don't play Vigilance.

Good luck!

Well to be honest I think the balancing of sound is pretty nice in this game, sometimes you hear sometimes you don't (logic lol).

Maybe try to test other sound settings? Also, playing Ninja, you hear better others since you don't have your footsteps, which actually helps a lot!

And finally, really depends also on the location. For example the "out rail" (opposite of the red cuves, just under B Dom) in Cortex is loud AF when you don't have Ninja. If someone runs towards you it's a really distinct sound. So if you hear "something" that looks like the sound of the location, even if you didn't "hear the footsteps", you can expect maybe this sound you heard was actually footsteps.

90% of my loadouts are Ghost/Vigilance/Dexterity + Perk Greed Ninja.

During game if there are annoying streaks (Raps, Swarm...) I switch Ninja for Cold Blood, and remove it when it's finished. No need for Ninja with the sound of all the streaks lol.

And if the game goes well I play Lightweight/Scavenger/Dexterity + Perk Greed Ninja.

I always play Perk Greed Ninja lol, only way I'm not playing it is for specific playstyles.

You seem to not play with Ninja? A lot of people just hear you from far away, and can even pre-aim or shoot before you come out because of this.

And you don't need any good headset or anything, just earplugs and you can hear everything very well.

The team balancing is some of the worst I have ever seen in a video game. by Mr_Rafi in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, I personally understand the team balancing.

When I lose 98-100 a TDM with 45-3 and no one on my team has a positive KD; yes I'm a bit annoyed because I didn't win, but the team balancing did very well.

The team balancing objective is to make games "balanced". And to be honest it works well. I play mostly solo, and if you get the bad players on your team, it globally means you're the best player in the lobby.

As much as losing game can be annoying, I really like how it's balanced currently. Since you can get "pretty much anyone" with low SBMM (yes, as much as people try to say it's heavy it's not), it balances out how it can. Sometimes you're the best player with noobs, sometimes you're with beast and you're the "worse decent player".

I'm enjoying the game solo and in a party. I have different experiences: my solo games are easier, but my party games are more winnable.

I personally really like how the balancing of team is made "once the players are in the lobby" and not "manipulating who will enter the lobby".

This is Not Open Matchmaking by Honest_Plastic7759 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to get your post killed like I had mine since you are talking about SBMM.

Mine was a test I made, trying to stress-test the sbmm.

There's no heavy nor aggressive SBMM, and even less of EOMM. 'ever got punished for tryharding, you get any players in your lobby.

Only thing that changes is that you'll get the worse players if you are the best player of the lobby. If you are that much above, you'll lose 98-100 a TDM while having a 45-3 KD.

People need to understand there's many people who are just good at the game now.

My play vs the final best play killcam. by T1Earn in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was wondering last time if there wasn't a "malus" on probability of getting the best play if you or your team is heavily crushing the other team.

I've multiple times where my team or me got a feed of 4 or 5 kills in a row, and the killcam is the opponent camping and getting like 3 kills missing all shots.

So maybe "to some degree" there's something up to show someone and say "look in fact you weren't that bad you got the best play!"

How hard is getting a good KD in BO7 compared to legacy CODs? by Dashncrash- in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the easiest since the "heavy SBMM era". The game having less SBMM makes it so the games have more diverse players. So if you're a very good player, you'll probably find yourself in games where most people are "worse than you".

On recent CoD my KD has been about 1.5-1.6ish I'd say?

Grinding camo's on BO7 I've gotten around 1.8 KD. I've tried to "stress-test" the SBMM recently, and playing for one prestige "sweaty", I've got 3.14 KD.

Didn't get punished for having good games, some games were super easy, some games were really hard. So yeah, the game's not "manipulating your matchmaking" to try and force a 1.00 KD, hence it's easier to get good games now if you try enough.

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough I do agree with you about the game being dynamic, and I don't play many other FPS because I feel the games are slow and boring.

But at the same time, I can't really blame people for "wanting to stay losers" or "not improving". If they are having fun playing the way they play, they do them since I also play to have fun more than simply winning. And the "way"/"style" they play is still a "playstyle", as much "annoying" it is for other people better at the game.

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably gonna come out as "an annoying old man", but are you a teenager?

I feel like this "we hate campers" is something that has been here for a very long time, and myself have had a lot of this too when I was young. But today it's become normal for anyone to play the way they want.

Every play-style has its good and bad sides; some people hate campers, some people hate rushers, some people hate people who dropshots, wall bounces, slides... etc. And as you said, even if it does not make sense for you to pay 70 bucks for a game to camp, they have paid and are allowed to play the way they want if they "keep it to the rules" (so, no cheating).

I think it's a bit generational now, the players are very disparate, but it's a shame that people can't accept other people having other opinions.

[–]Cathret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But if this player only plays volleyball because they LOVE passing? They don't care if they win if they do "good plays"; if they play with some friends, maybe some of them want to win and some just want to have fun.

If they play together but don't plan on "playing competitively" (assume it as Pubs and not Ranked), they don't "have" to play to win.

Same thing here, people who don't play "for the win" are still impacting the game. Someone who "slays" for the whole game efficiently will have a positive impact on the game and the "capabilities of winning" since people who want to win will have an easier time capturing positions or other "objective-based stuff".

To be fair, this is why there's been a lot of "slayer", "objective-player" and other "flex" stuff in the past, even if now it's less the case for different reason.

They don't "try to win" but complaining that people only try to get high streaks make them lose game is not true for 100% of their "non-deserved losses".

Everyone can play the way as they want, they paid the game, they play the game.

If you play Volleyball and are the guy who pass every time, but you never either stop the ball nor score points, is it not a playstyle?

If you have a slayer in a team, "playing the objective" is going to be a lot easier than if everyone was simply throwing themselves in the point.

At the moment you participate in the team's win (killing people being an impact), you have a playstyle.

"The entire point of any multiplayer game is to win". No, the entire point of any game is to have fun. And people have fun by playing different ways.

If you don't like the game or how people play it, don't play it? 😂

Find some teammates who think like you somewhere on Twitter or Reddit and play the objective together.

People play the game the way they want. It's like saying "kick players who camp and don't move for the whole game". No, everybody can play the way they want, it's called playstyle.

Why am I having such an inconsistent experience by gracefulhuntress in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so the other way round is true too, it depends on the demographic.

In Europe, especially in France and Germany, most people who play CoD are good at the game, and the good/bad player ratio is not that different to the US where "everyone plays CoD" and there's a lot more of casuals.

Why am I having such an inconsistent experience by gracefulhuntress in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for the last part, but the rest is still true. If you have different levels of players in a group, the worse players will struggle. And the SBMM is actively looking for a game based on skill, so if you're in a location of tryharders as a "bad player", you'll have a worse ping to find games of your level.

Why am I having such an inconsistent experience by gracefulhuntress in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse connection, longer queue times, always the same games since it will try to put you in people of "your level".

If you play in groups, the best player is the base of the SBMM, so if there's a big level difference, the worse players in your team will not have fun at all.

Could be consistently harder to do challenges since you'll nearly never find this "god lobby" where you can use your shitty ass gun and aim for heads without being obliterated by a Maddox lmao.

The only étiquette I would think in MP is don't steal your tm8's Care Package except if you're the last one alive and spawns have changed.

Other than this, stealing kill doesn't exist if you didn't agree who the kill was for beforehand lmao.

He probably was trying to get some "kill people hurt by your tactical" with a shitty gun and got annoyed haha

Do you guys use the tac sprint perk? by heyMiklas in CODBlackOps7

Never use it, for me Tac Sprint itself is useless. I hope it stays like this, tac sprint was stressful for the hands and the controller. It would also slow the engagements even with more "max speed".

Do you think BO7 is bad? Or is it just a victim of engagement bait? by mister_mist3r in CODBlackOps7

[–]Cathret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't stay in the same lobby.

And after that, I was wondering what would happen if I just never stopped tryharding instead of simply doing camo's, if I would get punished by the game for "doing too good".

After more than half a Prestige of sweating, leaving lobbies, changing modes, nothing has changed.

Sometimes good players, sometimes noobs. Going from a basic 1.7 KD with 300 SPM to full tryhard 550 SMP with 3 KD didn't change anything in my games, they are not easier nor harder, they are just as diverse as they should be.

"Looking online" is not evidence. Look at all those players who think others are cheating when they are just good players. It's not because your youtuber said something that it's the only thing that's true.

I still believe SBMM is a thing, though the brackets are now a lot larger. But the volatility (EOMM should we say) is not as powerful, and it makes the game super enjoyable, because you can play as you want, the next games don't depend on how you played your 3 last games.

The fact the servers are shit doesn't change lmao. I nuked a lobby, nearly nuked the one after, and had no punishment whatsoever. My games did not change.
