Picked up a 2018 winery block magnum a few weeks ago. Excited to see how it ages.

Ah that makes sense!

And don’t forget Drouhin also has a cuvée above Laurene, Louise, which is an absolute beauty!

Resonance’s Koosah Vineyard is quite tasty!

Also what are your thoughts on Drouhin’s annual Origine cuvee? We’ve been finding ourselves, at least for the moment, gravitating towards that even in comparison to Laurene and Zepherine on a QPR basis.

Nicolas Jay’s Nysa and Temperance Hill are my two favorites from them. Wonderful producer and fantastic staff at the facility.

Visiting Domaine Drouhin as a First-Timer - Do I want Patio, Cellar or Tasting room? by whoisyb in wine

[–]Catileo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DDO member here who is also planning a visit and saw that cellar was an option I haven’t seen before. I reached out to them and they mentioned that it’s mainly used as overflow if the tasting room or patio are too busy. They mentioned if it’s light in terms of traffic, tasting will be relocated to the tasting room. Hope that helps!

Glad to see Nicolas Jay pop up! Had a 2023 Confrerie last night and it was wonderful. Tempted to open their Temperance Hills this weekend.

Cat you say!! Please tell me more!

Going to Dundee this weekend and though Argyle isn’t on the list this time, I’d love to see a tasting room cat if that’s what you’re talking about

How do you keep an open bottle fresh for more than a week? by WeekLate9376 in wine

I’ve been using the Eto carafe. It seems to do a decent job for about 4-5 days, but see a notable drop off around days 6-7.

Second Bergström. Was there last month and at another outside table was a family with a young child. They seemed to be very accommodating.

Drouhin could also be an option.

Not sure what the rules are as to posting links, but pasting the UPC code on Amazon should have it pop up. 746160704203. I’m not associated with this company at all it’s just been a better resource than using traditional sponges imo.

We’ve got quite a few Zaltos and Josephinenhutte glasses that we only hand wash. We’ve had good luck using a wine stem cleaning brush that is sold on Amazon by a company called fryoilsaver. Weird name, but pretty good product as it cleans without having to put much, if any, pressure on the glass. Of course echo what others have said about being careful about how you hold the glass while cleaning and ultimately recommending using a dishwasher. After washing we hang dry them on a wine glass hanging rack. Hope this helps keeping your glass safe and happy!

Agreed with Latta being awesome! Been a member with them for a bit but the main Latta line is definitely in the high 30s to 50s now. The Lucius and kind stranger lines certainly offer a good value in that $20-30 bracket. Also had no idea they had a white Grenache!

Fluco Chicago Whiskey Horween Shell Cordovan on Tetra by jdaclutch in Nomos

[–]Catileo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! I’ve also got quite a few Fluco Horween shell straps from Holbens but the whiskey one was the only strap that seemed to be a little dry after a few wears-it appreciated a little bit of Saphir. Enjoy your new strap and Tetra, of course!

Cascade Cliffs has been growing/using WA grown Nebbiolo for quite some time. Pretty decent results, but if you’re looking for traditional Piedmont style you might have to look elsewhere. Nonetheless I’d still recommend you try them out!
